It is great pleasure and pride to inform you about the 50th anniversary congress of the Hungarian Clinical Neurophysiology Society , held between December 4-6, 2025 at the Mövenpick Budapest Centre Hotel (formerly Novotel Centrum).

This event was not only an excellent opportunity to present the latest achievements and innovations of the profession, but also a celebration. The 50th congress of our society is a significant milestone, which marks our decades of dedicated work for the development of Hungarian clinical neurophysiology and the expansion of diagnostic and therapeutic options.

Over the past years, numerous groundbreaking research, innovations, and clinical applications have enriched our knowledge, and these results have contributed to offering increasingly effective diagnostic and therapeutic options to our patients.
The scientific program was realized with the participation of renowned domestic and international speakers , and our guests will be: Prof. Hatice Tankisi, President of the European Society of Neurophysiology, Prof. Andrea Antal from the University of Göttingen and Dr. Antonin Gechev from the Royal Free London Hospital. It was particularly important for us to create a platform for professional exchange of ideas while respecting traditions, but also seeking answers to the challenges of the future. The main patron of the conference was Prof. Dr. Tamás Freund, Academician, President of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His support was a great recognition for our Society and our profession.

We trust that the congress was not only valuable from a professional perspective, but also served as a venue for inspiring meetings, new collaborations and friendly conversations.

During the Congress the Hungarian Society for Clinical Neurophysiology awarded EMEAC ExCo members with Honorary Membership for their outstanding scientific achievements.

Thank you for honoring us with your attention, and for allowing us to celebrate the 50th anniversary congress of our Society together!

On behalf of the management of the Hungarian Clinical Neurophysiology Society

Dear Colleagues,

We are delighted to inform you, that the 19th ECCN 9-12 September 2025 was successfully held at the Central Methodist Hall, London.

The number of delegate from Europe, Middle east and Africa chapter exceeded expectations with participates joining from other IFCN chapters, too.

The scientific program included

Plenary Sessions, with Professor Geraldine Boylan opening, talking on her lifetime’s experience of neonatal epilepsy in intensive care.

Professor Ulf Ziemann gave the Hagbarth Lecture on his extraordinarily precise work on TMS and closed loop stimulation,

Professor Margitta Seeck gave the Lopes Da Silva Lecture on epilepsy, from EEG to imaging and prediction.

Professor Adam Zeman intrigued everyone with his work to delineate both transient epileptic amnesia and aphantasia (absence of the ability to conjure visual images);

Prof. Jean-Pascal gave the Buchtal lecture of Peripheral nervous system signs and symptoms: A question of lesion, excitability, or central modulation?

as well as highly attended practical and theoretical symposia and courses.

The excellent scientific and social programs were supported thanks to the colleagues from both EMEAC and BSCN, scientific committee co-chairs Andrea Antal from EMEAC and Ronit Pressler from BSCN and the convener, Jacquie Deeb from BSCN and Hatice Tankisi for EMEAC.

The winner of the next 20th ECCN bid were Spanish Societies for Clinical Neurophysiology, which will be held in Malaga, Spain in 2027.

The Gala Dinner was held in the Governor’s Hall of St Thomas’s Hospital with a surprise play written by IFCN President Prof. Jonathan Cole and presented by the BSCN board members.

Please follow our next posts for the ECCN events

Dear Colleagues,

We are pleased to confirm that a limited part of the ECCN 2025 Congress will be available virtually. This option is intended to support colleagues who are unable to attend in person, particularly from the international community who may find it difficult to travel to London.

https://www.eccn2025-london.com/hybrid/programme/

Please note that this is not a replacement for full Congress attendance. It offers limited access to selected sessions but still provides a valuable opportunity to gain CME credits.

If you have already registered for the event, we warmly encourage you to share details with colleagues and friends who are unable to attend in person, so they too can participate through our hybrid offering.

Please note that due to a limited number of places for the hybrid option, due to service limitations, hybrid attendance and its features are not available to in-person delegates, and registration transfers from in-person to hybrid can not be accepted.

If you are from a lower- or middle-income country, you can benefit from a discounted rate, please visit our website for more details, as supporting documentation will be required.

For hybrid participants only: Please be aware that recordings of the sessions will only be available on-demand for 24 hours after the session to allow for time zone differences. The recording of the sessions is not legally permitted.

EMEAC Digital hour lecture - August 2025

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/W8NQPCY

Dear Colleagues,

After the summer break, the EMEAC ExCo is delighted to continue our interactive, teaching initiative – The Digital Hour.

We would like to thank to all our colleagues, who participate and support the project - viewing and reflecting on our lectures.

For those of you who are new to the project, it is designed by the Video conferencing fusion/hybrid group, aiming to promote National Societies scientific achievements by presenting keynote lectures from current annual meetings, symposia or courses in front of our large audience from Europe, Middle East and Africa.
We encourage all member Societies to participate in the project, giving us a feedback as well as sending video lectures/materials with contemporary accomplishment, presented nationally.
Hope this will keep EMEAC teaching life more active between each European Congress of Clinical Neurophysiology.

We would also like to give special acknowledgements to Dr. Jacquie Deeb, Dr. Gareth Payne and Dr. Syed Shah form the British Society for Clinical Neurophysiology providing the third Digital Hour lecture:

Clinical utility of ultra longterm subcutaneous EEG, present and future

presented by Prof Mark Richardson FRCP PhD, Head, Division of Neuroscience
King's College London, UK at the Autumn meeting of British Society for Clinical Neurophysiology, 6 October 2023.
Please follow the link below to open the media:
