The Breast Reduction UK group was developed by a surgeon who wanted to provide this operation for patients who really need it.
This founding surgeon has performed this operation regularly in the NHS and in private hospitals. He has an excellent record in providing good cosmetic results as well as improving the quality of life of patients who were suffering from symptoms of excessively large breasts (macromastia).
Over the past few years, NHS has declined to provide funding for this operation due to its limited resources. In the private hospital, the price of having this operation by plastic surgeons is exorbitant – often at least £10,000 which was out of reach of most people.
