On Monday 24th February, everyone at Queensway House Care Home came together to celebrate a very special milestone as our Manager, Charlotte, marked her 1 year anniversary with us
It was a wonderful moment for residents and team members to recognise the dedication, leadership and compassion Charlotte has shown since joining the Queensway House family 🎉✨

Over the past year, Charlotte has worked tirelessly to support both our lovely residents and staff, always leading with kindness, positivity and a genuine passion for care. Her commitment to creating a warm, welcoming and supportive environment has made a meaningful difference to everyday life within our home and has helped our community continue to thrive 💜

We would like to say a huge thank you to Charlotte for the hard work, care and enthusiasm she brings to Queensway House every single day. Our residents, families and team are incredibly grateful for her guidance and support, and we are so proud to have her leading our wonderful home 🌟💜

Congratulations Charlotte on your first year at Queensway House. We look forward to celebrating many more achievements together in the years ahead 🥳👏

On Sunday 8th March, everyone at Queensway House Care Home came together to celebrate International Women’s Day and to recognise the incredible women who make our home such a warm and special place

It was a wonderful opportunity for our wonderful residents and staff to reflect on the achievements, strength and kindness of women past and present within our community💜🌸

We would like to say a heartfelt thank you to the amazing women in our dedicated care team. Every day you show compassion, patience and commitment in the care you provide, supporting our residents and their families with kindness and understanding. Your hard work truly makes a difference and helps create the supportive and loving environment that Queensway House is known for 💜

We also celebrated the wonderful women who live here at Queensway House. Each resident carries a lifetime of stories, wisdom, resilience and achievements that continue to inspire those around them. Their experiences and memories are a treasured part of our home and remind us of the remarkable lives they have led 💜

International Women’s Day is a time to honour the past, celebrate the present and empower the future, and we are so proud to share this moment with the incredible women who make Queensway House the warm and welcoming community it is today 💜🌸

🔧 Maintenance Appreciation at Queensway House 🔧

Today at Queensway House Care Home we wanted to take a moment to show our appreciation for the incredible maintenance team who work hard behind the scenes to keep our home safe, comfortable and running smoothly for both residents and staff. Their dedication and effort play such an important role in ensuring Queensway House remains a a welcoming and well cared for environment every single day 🔧✨

We would especially like to recognise Adrian, who is always on hand to support the home whenever needed. No task is ever too big or too small and his reliability, hard work and positive attitude never go unnoticed by the team or our residents 💜

A big thank you also goes to Paul, our trusted right hand man, who is always ready to lend a helping hand. Paul consistently goes above and beyond to make sure everything is working as it should and his support across the home is truly valued 👏

Of course we must also mention Rosie, our Maintenance Division 1.0, who keeps everything organised and ensures things run exactly the way they should. Her coordination and support help keep the whole team moving forward smoothly 💜

We are incredibly grateful for the commitment, reliability and care our maintenance team brings to Queensway House every day. Thank you all for everything you do to support our home and the people who live and work here🌟🔧

February brought plenty of lovely moments across our homes but here’s a little hint at what we’ve been celebrating this month: 🧧🐉 | 🥞 | 🐶🐱 | 💗

From Valentine’s celebrations and pancake making for Shrove Tuesday, to learning about Chinese New Year and enjoying visits from some very special furry friends, it’s been another month full of smiles, creativity and time spent together.

Across our 46 homes, these everyday moments are what make each community so special. They’re made possible by the kindness, energy and dedication of our incredible teams, who work so hard to create meaningful experiences for residents 💜👏

This week at Queensway House we had an absolutely fantastic time with a lively and high energy game of Boogie Bingo! 🎉🖐️
Our lovely residents and staff came together in the lounge for an afternoon full of music, laughter, and friendly competition. Sian, our wonderful activity coordinator, was joined by Nancy, Sandra, Dorothy, and Joan as everyone settled in with a nice hot coffee ☕😊 The warm drinks set the perfect tone for a social, relaxed, and interactive afternoon!

The game was not only loads of fun, but it also gave everyone a boost for their cognitive skills 🧠✨ Residents listened carefully for each number, marked their cards, and stayed engaged throughout, sharpening memory, attention, and reaction time without even realizing it. The lively atmosphere, with music, movement, and friendly chatter, encouraged everyone to cheer each other on, celebrate wins, and enjoy the shared energy of the room 😆

Sandra shared that it brought back wonderful memories of the days she used to go to clubs and play bingo 🎶💃 Her stories sparked smiles and conversation, and it was lovely to hear other residents join in with their own memories and experiences. The combination of nostalgia, friendly competition, and music made the afternoon feel truly special 🌟🎵

Afternoons like this remind us how simple activities can create meaningful moments, boost wellbeing, and bring residents together 💟🏆☕ There was laughter, dancing in seats, shared stories, and plenty of happy faces, and we can’t wait to do it all again at the next Boogie Bingo session! 🎊😊

❤️✨ Valentine’s Day Ball at our care home ✨❤️

Love was truly in the air as our residents enjoyed a fabulous afternoon filled with delicious cocktails, dancing, and fantastic music. The room was beautifully decorated, and everyone looked amazing dressed for the occasion! 💃🕺

A huge thank you to DJ NJ Herts for keeping the dance floor full and playing all the favourite classics, there were plenty of smiles, singalongs, and even a few romantic twirls! 🎶💕

From clinking glasses to sharing laughter, it was a Valentine’s celebration to remember. Moments like these bring so much joy, connection, and love to our home. 💘🌹

🌸 🌸 A blooming lovely afternoon of flower arranging in our care home! 🌷✨

We picked up these beautiful flower towers from our local shop, Budgens , and they made the perfect centrepiece for such a creative and cheerful afternoon.

Margaret carefully selected soft pastel blooms for her arrangement, sharing how they reminded her of the flowers she used to grow in her garden. Dorothy had great fun playing with height and colour, creating a bright and vibrant display while chatting about her favourite springtime flowers. Nancy chose bold, cheerful blooms and said she loves having fresh flowers in her room to admire each day.

The room was filled with laughter, stories, and the lovely scent of fresh flowers. Moments like these don’t just brighten our home, they lift spirits, encourage creativity, and spark the most wonderful conversations. We can’t wait for our next floral afternoon! 🌼💛

🍕 What better way to celebrate National Pizza day than to make Pizzas ourselves- and most importantly eat them afterwards!

Our lovely residents had a fun filled Monday and got stuck into the action of national pizza day here at Queensway House Care Home . Our fellow residents were over the moon to be part of such a yummy national day – I mean I think we all would , a day dedicated to making and eating pizza, count me in! 😆

We also had a fantastic time timing up with our splendid childminders to help with the pizza making magic. The residents and childminders put their creative mindsets together to help make the best pizza we have ever tasted. Each beautiful homemade pizza was topped with everyone’s favourite ingredients from the classic cheese pepperoni to some wonderfully creative combinations .The childminders were so helpful throughout and we couldn’t have done it without them- and bonus points for the pizza making skills! 🧑‍🍳 🍕

We was so proud of the residents innovative creations on National Pizza Day and it was amazing to see them express their creativeness and engage in this activity. This activity really displayed smiles all around and it was truly magical to see generations being brought together through, fun and creativity, making these moments so special 😋

Bringing the childminders to interact with our residents really helped the residents to step outside their comfort zone and helped strengthen social interaction and community bonds 💟

We are so thrilled everyone enjoyed themselves and about how yummy our pizzas turned out!

There’s nothing quite like the smell of freshly baked treats filling the home and bringing everyone together. 🍰

Today was all about mixing, rolling, laughing, and creating sweet memories that warm the heart and soul.

From measuring ingredients to stirring the batter and tasting the final creations, every moment was filled with joy, teamwork, and love.

Baking isn’t just about cakes and biscuits it’s about the smiles shared, the stories told, and the special time spent together. Moments like these remind us how simple activities can bring the biggest happiness. 🧁🍪❤️
