Last chance to respond to Campaign for Disability Justice survey. Give your experiences of work capability assessments.

Evidence shows that work capability assessments are often inconsistent, inaccurate and ineffective for complex, fluctuating and multiple conditions.

Is this your experience, too? Please tell us by completing this short survey: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/AL0R2J/

By sharing personal experiences with Ministers and officials, we can help them to understand the impact of the policies they create and why change is needed.

If you have had experience of Work Capability Assessments give your views below to Campaign for Disability Justice.

Heard what happens when services are shaped by people with lived experience?

Read our guest blog by journalism student, Michael O’Connell, on how we make access, community & inclusion part of everyday life in the two libraries we run.

From dyslexia‑friendly displays to warm, welcoming spaces: this is the impact of Disabled‑led services.

Due to the unprecedented number of referrals earlier this year into our Touchpoint Peer Support Service, we have taken the decision to pause to new referrals for a short period of time. We will let you know when we can take new referrals. This does not affect our Touchpoint Welfare Benefits Service, who are available to take new referrals.

Nothing about us with us. Join Campaign for Disability Justice

It’s unthinkable that anyone could fly a plane. But non-Disabled people think nothing of making decisions for Disabled people without the knowledge, skills or experience to do so.

Disabled people know what does and doesn’t work for us – we can pilot the planes of our lives.

'Cuts to disability benefits for those who cannot work ‘is recipe for greater hardship’ and ‘will put lives at risk’'

Our campaigns CEO, Caroline Collier, said: ‘It is a recipe for greater hardship which will do nothing to tackle the barriers that exclude disabled people from the labour market, and it should be reversed.'

Let's influence the Access to Work enquiry and make the scheme work for everyone who needs it. Join Campaign for Disability Justice

Do you have any experience of using the Access to Work scheme, good or bad? The Public Accounts Committee wants to hear from you.

The Committee is gathering written evidence following serious concerns about long delays, growing backlogs and the impact on Disabled people and employers.

This is an important opportunity to influence the inquiry by giving evidence of your own experiences. The deadline is 26 February.

This scheme, if it worked properly, could be a huge support to Disabled people in, or looking for, work.

Let's campaign for joined-up thinking on Universal Credit. Join Campaign for Disability Justice

The Government believes its cuts to the health element of Universal Credit for new claimants will encourage more Disabled people into work. Yet the infrastructure to support this goal won’t be in place until the end of 2030. And there is no evidence that people affected by the new cuts will be able to find work.

This is like being thrown into the deep end and told swimming lessons are coming. And it will push even more Disabled people into poverty.

It’s illogical to remove a vital safety net for Disabled people years before making sure the right support is in place for those seeking work.

Join us to raise awareness of this gap and of the need for for Disabled people: https://buff.ly/B1Jcub6
