So you keep going, work around things, adjusting without thinking and you tell yourself it’s all OK because it’s manageable

And then over time this becomes your normal, even though it never really feels right

Just because it’s manageable…. Doesn’t mean it’s right

A pattern I keep noticing….

Is people who’ve been dealing with the same thing for years.

👉🏼 tried everything they can think of
👉🏼 seen everyone they can think can help them
👉🏼 spent more than they wanted to

And somewhere along the way the question has changed
from “Why isn’t this working?”

To “should I just accept that this is my life now?”

They’ve done everything from rehab to Dr Google searches and back again!

But the problem with searching online is that there’s so much advice out there that it’s easy to get even more confused than you were at the start

You don’t know what’s good advice, what’s bad advice and what’s actually going to help you

So you then try one thing and then try the next one and then something else

And the real reason your injury keeps coming back is actually super simple 👇🏼

You’ve become so focused on the injury itself that nobody has looked passed it

And not because you’re doing anything wrong but because most people don’t have the knowledge base to know that there’s something else to look for

The injury isn’t really the problem, it’s actually what the problem keeps reproducing

And that’s a completely different thing to fix.

Happy International Women’s Day 🏃🏻‍♀️⛹🏻‍♀️🧘🏻‍♀️🤾🏻‍♀️💃🏻🩷

Women in sports are still competing with less media coverage, less funding and fewer opportunities

But more and more of them are breaking performance barriers!!

This matters and not just for the women competing now but for all those young girls watching and dreaming about becoming athletes

Because when women are competing at the highest level it changes what girls believe is possible for them

A pattern I’ve noticed this week is…

People apologising for their body before they even move

They tell me what they can’t do anymore
What feels unreliable
What they’re worried might flare up

Nothing significant has happened

But somewhere along the way, they lost confidence before their ability

And once someone expects movement to go badly, the body starts moving differently long before pain shows up

That’s usually the part I’m interested in first 🤓
