Podiatry & Chiropody, at The Pain And Injury Clinic 🦶🏻

For more information, please visit: https://paininjuryclinic.co.uk/service/podiatry-chiropodist-warwickshire/

Clinical or General Podiatry is a branch of Podiatry associated with the care and treatment of the skin and nails of the feet, together with the overall health and wellbeing of the lower limbs. This includes the health of structures like blood vessels and nerves, which may be adversely affected in conditions like diabetes.

Podiatrists (formerly known as Chiropodists) work to improve the mobility, independence and the quality of life for their patients by providing assessment, diagnosis, treatment and preventative care of a wide range of problems affecting the feet, ankles and lower limbs. However, most people will simply see a podiatrist for Nail Cutting, Corn and Callous care etc.

People typical see Podiatrist for the following reasons:

-Ingrowing Toenails-Ageing Feet-Athletes Foot-Blisters-Bunions / Toe Deformities (i.e Hammer Toe)-Corns and Callus-Chilblains-Diabetic Foot -Fungal Nail Infection-Gout-Heel Pain-Ingrowing Toenails-Osteoarthritis (Degenerative Joint Disease)-Rheumatoid Arthritis-Sweaty Feet-Verrucae

During a Warwickshire Podiatry appointment, your Warwickshire Podiatrist will examine your feet and ankles, ask you about your symptoms and medical history. They may refer for diagnostic tests such as X-rays, MRI scans, Ultrasound Scans, or blood tests. They will then develop a treatment plan tailored to your individual needs, and if suitable, treat you for your presenting symptoms within your first visit.

Our Warwickshire Podiatrists offer a wide range of treatments, from nail cutting, callous and corn care, and verruca treatment to medication, physical therapy, custom orthotics, surgery, and more. The type of treatment recommended by your Warwickshire Podiatrist will depend on the specific condition being treated and the severity of the symptoms.

What Is The Difference Between Physiotherapy, Osteopathy & Chiropractic?

In our view the main difference is merely… ‘the spelling’. Let us explain…

At least within the Musculoskeletal context, each of these professions are essentially conservative (non-surgical) musculoskeletal care professions, and to us, it seems rather silly that we have three separate professions who are essentially doing the same, or at least a very similar thing.

If a Warwickshire Chiropractor, an Osteopath, and a Physiotherapist assess and diagnose a patient effectively, and ask the question‘What’s the very best way that this patients complaint can be addressed?’, they should in theory each be carrying out exactly the same treatment / management. There is an optimum way to treat a patient, and each professional should be basing the care that they offer on the needs of the patient in front of them, and not professional ideology.

We see many patients who have been told that they need to see a Physiotherapist or an Osteopath. Likewise, we work alongside other Physiotherapists and Osteopaths.
