Winter travel tips to help you stay safe:

🚗 Give yourself extra time
Rushing in icy or wet conditions increases the risk of slips and bumps, especially on short journeys.

🧊 Clear frost properly
Make sure all windows, mirrors and lights are fully clear before setting off, not just a small patch.

👟 Watch your footing
Wear shoes with good grip and take care on icy pavements, driveways and car parks.

🧤 Be prepared for the cold
Keep a warm coat, gloves and a charged phone with you, even for quick trips.

📍 Plan local journeys carefully
Stick to familiar routes where possible and avoid poorly lit or untreated paths in bad weather.

Today, we recognise how Braille helps people who are blind or have very low vision stay informed, confident, and independent. In the UK, almost 2 million people live with sight loss, and around 360,000 are registered as blind or partially sighted, yet only about 12,000 people read Braille.

Many people believe learning Braille later in life will be too difficult, but with the right support it can still open new possibilities. It can help with everyday tasks, reading, and simple labelling around the home, helping life feel easier and more in control.

Welcome to Home Instead Senior Care, Hereford.

Hereford office first opened its doors in September 2019, and it is owned and operated by Andrew Wood and Natalie Cooke who, between them, have over 20 years’ experience in the care sector, the majority of this in the home care sector with another national provider.

Having previously worked together, Andrew and Natalie welcomed the opportunity to work together again after changes in their work lives gave them the opportunity and time to explore the possibility of opening their own business. Throughout their research, the core values, culture, mission, and ethos of Home Instead Senior Care all aligned completely with their own. It was a very easy decision to align themselves with this award-winning provider whilst taking direct responsibility for the care and companionship they provide.

To both Andrew and Natalie, it is a deeply personal service, which means constant striving to deliver a care service that they would be happy for a member of their own loved-ones to receive, in the way they would want - and that's their promise.

The Hereford office is part of a global network of more than 900 locally-owned and operated offices, with more than 200 of these owned and operated here in the UK, where over 25% are rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission.
