Interesting piece about opening the heart to both grief and joy.
shares: “Francis Weller once said, “The heart needs grief and gratitude in constant conversation with one another, and since grief deepens the heart’s capacity to know what another person may be feeling, I’m holding onto both.”
Engaging in grief and suffering can also open the heart to joy and delight. If we refuse to walk the path of grief, we may be faced with small lives that are controlled by our emotions. In a happiness-obsessed, fear-based culture, good and bad emotions are viewed as binary to be navigated with precise caution. But the soft animal of the self often needs a safe container to surrender to a new life.
Have you ever tried “befriending” the full spectrum of your emotions?”
In Cranio-sacral Therapy, we gently contact the body’s intelligence, offering it the chance to release what it no longer needs—physically, emotionally, and energetically.
So if you’re feeling tightness, fatigue, or imbalance, it may not just be structural. Ask yourself:
What emotion might this area be holding onto?
