Today is International Nursing Day and we take this opportunity to recognise the incredible contribution our nursing team make at Ryeland Surgery. We have 7 Practice Nurses, 3 Advanced Nurse Practitioners and our own dedicated Research Nurse. Our PNs (Sandy, Julie, Helen, Elaine, Jayne, Ginny and Amalie) perform a myriad of roles, from supporting people with long-term conditions such as diabetes and heart disease, to delivering immunisations, cervical screening, wound care and health promotion. They are often the familiar face patients see time and again, building relationships that really do make a difference. Our ANPs (Caroline, Natalie and Helen) see patients with acute illness, lead our work in all our Care and Nursing Homes, visit our housebound patients for their annual reviews and lead our QI (Quality Improvement) work. Our Research Nurse (Claire) leads all our research projects. We are indeed fortunate to have such a strong and committed nursing team. So thank you to them all - we appreciate everything you do, not just today, but all year round.
