Meet the team: Administration! 👋🏼

Our surgery isn't just made up of doctors, nurses and receptionists, we actually have a huge team working behind the scenes to make sure each day runs as smoothly as can be!

Today, we are introducing you to our Administration Teams!

We have several different teams that deal with all the different administrative tasks that come into the Surgery everyday. They are:

💻Practice Support Team
💻Prescription Clerks
💻Secretarial Team
💻Insurance Team
💻Data Clerks

These teams are the communication link between the patient, practice healthcare team, hospital, insurance companies, health authorities and other agencies ✨

It's the Autumn 2025 Parent/Carer Voice Herefordshire Annual Survey of SEND Services, courtesy of Herefordshire Council and the ICS (Integrated Care System).

Are you a parent or carer in Herefordshire and have a child/young person (aged 0-25) with any disability or additional needs? This year's survey is now available for you to complete!

It covers key areas such as health, social care, education and community support, and asks what’s working well and where improvements are needed. The information you share will directly shape how services are developed and improved across Herefordshire. This isn’t about ticking boxes for inspections—it’s about making real, meaningful changes that support families.

More information can be found in the survey link above! 👆🏼

As most of us long-time Leominster residents know, the town that we call home has had quite a varied and interesting bout of history. But, what about it's medical history? 🩺

From supposedly being the home to the first known British female doctors, to the local pharmacy selling medication which contained illicit, although not back then, drugs. The town has had it's fair share of medical moments!

We've shared a few of these in the image below 👇🏼

Thank you to the Heritage Walk Team for sharing them with us.

It was Nursing Support Workers' Day on 23rd November! 🩺

We would like to pay tribute to those working at Ryeland Surgery - our HCAs Debbie, Tina, Laura and Ruth and our Phlebotomists Louise and Emma (at Bodenham Surgery).

Many of you will know them. They work tirelessly to care for patients in all manner of ways, and are cheerful and willing members of our team. Without them the practice could not function. Our sincere thanks to them all! 💚

Did you know? 🤔

For a range of minor health concerns, we recommend visiting your local pharmacy. The team of health professionals there can offer you any help and clinical advice to manage your minor health concerns. If symptoms suggest it is more serious, they'll ensure you'll get the correct care that you need.

Introducing National Self-Care Week 2025! ♥

National Self-Care Week is the UK-wide annual awareness week that focuses on embedding support for self-care across communities, families and generations.

This year's theme is “Mind and Body," with plenty of health-related messages being communicated across the campaign!

In addition to this, Self-Care Week provides an opportunity to promote better use of the NHS by signposting people to the right service relevant to their health needs!

Annually, from the the 18th-24th November, it's World Antimicrobial Resistance Awareness Week! 💊

This campaign is all about creating awareness of different microorganisms, such as bacterias and viruses, that evolve over time to become resistant to the medicines used to treat them.

The key message for this year's campaign is for clinicians - "Every antibiotic used raises the risk of resistant bacteria in that patient - this can cause future infections that are harder to treat and the resistant bacteria can spread to the people around them. Smart prescribing saves lives."

We have teamed up with parkrun UK and the Royal College of General Practitioners to become one of nearly 2000 "Parkrun Practices" across the UK! 👟🌲

The exciting initiative of a "Parkrun Practice" is to promote the health and well-being of staff and patients, getting them moving on a Saturday morning at a local Parkrun event.

Our local Parkrun event will be:
📍 Queenswood, Leominster

Parkrun is a GREAT activity be socially prescribed:
🌳It's free, for everyone! (You just need to sign up on the Parkrun website!)
🌳You don't have to run. You can walk, jog, volunteer and/or spectate
🌳You don't have to commit or book ahead. Fancy coming one Saturday, just turn up
🌳It's a chance to move and socialise in the midst of nature and fresh air
🌳It's a fun morning all round!

The first Queenswood Parkrun is yet to take place. So, in the meantime, why not try Ludlow or Hereford?

For more information on Parkrun, sign up for your barcode or find events, check out their website: 👇🏼
