🌾 Condition in the Spotlight: Farmer’s Lung 🌾
What is Farmer’s Lung?
Farmer’s Lung is a type of hypersensitivity pneumonitis, caused by repeated exposure to mouldy hay, straw, or grain dust. It affects the lungs, making breathing difficult and leading to long-term respiratory issues if untreated.
How it impacts life:
🌬 Shortness of breath, persistent cough, and fatigue.
💤 Over time, it can seriously affect quality of life and limit independence.
Why it matters here in Herefordshire:
As a rural community, we understand this condition may affect our local farming and agricultural community more than most. Raising awareness and offering support is an important part of what we do.
How we can help at Oxygen and Wellness Therapy Centre:
✅ Oxygen Therapy – Supports lung function and eases breathlessness.
✅ Specialised Physical Therapy & Classes – Gentle exercise to strengthen breathing muscles and build stamina.
✅ Community & Support Network – A safe, welcoming space to share experiences and connect with others living with respiratory conditions.
