Our lovely Jane and Frank, pictured,. are taking on the walking 75 miles with my dog to beat motor neurone disease. (MND).

Right now, more than 5,000 people in the UK are living with MND. Every step Jane and Frank take is for them; can you help us support them?
Just £12 could provide an information pack. for a newly diagnosed person with MND.

Your donation could help in being a step closer to a world free from MND.

Jane and Frank are walking. the 75 miles in memory of Roger, a client of Elgar Care.

Well done Jane and Frank; we will keep you all updated with their progress in October. 🧡💙

🍂Autumn’s Quiet Song🍂

Leaves drift slowly, gold and flame,
The trees release what none can claim.
A hush of wind, a softened sky,
The year exhales, prepares goodbye.

Crisp air gathers in fading light,
Fields wear amber, dusk grows bright.
Shadows lengthen, gentle, deep—
The earth folds in, begins to sleep.

Yet in this pause, a fleeting grace,
The season paints a tender face.
Autumn whispers, calm, profound,
In falling leaves, the sacred sound.

🌟 Elgar Care Supports Herefordshire Mind 🌟

We’re proud to be supporting Herefordshire Mind as our chosen charity for the year. Great to support a local charity that concentrates on what is important—because mental health matters. 💙
Although some of Herefordshire's minds services are funded from the NHS not all are, and they rely on grants and donations. Money raised allows them to offer peer support groups for free as well as create new groups in accordance to the needs of the community.
They have recently been able to set up a new group for transgender people. autism, anxiety management and a brand new men's group.

Our journey has already begun, with Tracey and Lisa taking on the Malvern Hills Challenge and collecting at the Hereford United football game.
A huge thank you to them for their amazing efforts! 👏👏

Every penny collected makes such a huge difference, and throughout the year our team will continue to fundraise and raise awareness to support the vital work of Herefordshire Mind.

Throughout the year, we’ll be taking part in more events and fundraising activities, and we’d love for you to join us in supporting this wonderful cause. Together, we can make a real difference and can make a positive impact for our community. 🌈✨

Amazing news!!
Herefordshire Mind

Big news! 📢

Herefordshire Mind are delighted to share that we are expanding and have kindly been gifted the lease on a new community building in the South Wye HR2 area by Anchor, England’s largest not-for-profit provider of housing and care for people in later life.

The address of this new site is Drybridge Day Centre, St Martin’s Street, Hereford, HR2 7SG. It will locally be known as Herefordshire Mind’s Hub for Hope, a name chosen by the clients and staff we work with and a true reflection of what this new expansion is all about.✨

The South Wye area has historically had fewer mental health resources, and we’ve heard the community’s call for support.

Herefordshire Mind is committed to meeting the mental health needs of Herefordshire and ensuring that support is accessible, welcoming, and sustainable. We want to provide a safe space for hope ensuring that no one has to face a mental health problem alone, the new Hub for Hope represents an important step forward in that mission. 💙

Falls Prevention Awareness Week 15th-19th September.

This years theme is from awareness to action.

❄️ Take care when out and about with the wet leaves 🍂 and wet weather in the winter, as the risk of falls can increase.

Let's look at how you can reduce your risk and prevent a fall.

Staying active is the best thing you can do to stay mobile and independent. It increases your balance, coordination and enables you to maintain your strength.

Eating well and getting enough energy for keeping up strength and preventing falls. If you struggle to eat three meals a day snacks little and often can help you keep your energy up.

Keeping hydrated and drinking 6-8 glasses a day this doesn't have to be just water it can include tea, coffee, squash. Drinking plenty to ensure you don't feel lightheaded or dizzy which can lead to a fall.

Taking care of your eyes as your vision plays a vital role with in your balance.

Checking for hearing problems as they can affect your balance. Visiting the GP as soon as you notice it could be something that can be easily treated such as a build up of wax.

Making your health conditions and medicines certain medications can make you feel faint or dizzy as well as low blood pressure or poorly controlled diabetes.

There groups are running this Monday 7-9pm for any man 18+, why not come along and give them a go? It could be the best decision you make.

Every man who’s walked through the door at Andy’s Man Club says the same thing — the first step is the hardest. But once you take it, it could be the best decision you ever make.

Inside, you’ll find men just like you — no judgement, no pressure, just support. Some sit quietly with a brew, some share, some just listen. However you show up, you’ll be welcomed.

That one step can feel heavy, but it’s also the step that can change everything.
You’re not alone, and you don’t have to carry it all by yourself. The hardest step is just getting through the door — after that, you’ll realise you’ve found a room full of people who truly get it.

Our groups are running this Monday 7-9pm for any man 18+, why not come along and give them a go? It could be the best decision you make. ❤️
