Ever had that awful twang in your when you’re walking down a staircase or a hill?Getting repeated pain when twisting your knee? Does it catch you off guard and you can’t quite locate the pain?An important thing to make sure if that your keep the knee as mobile as possible, we well as maintaining muscle strength. Assessment of the knee is important to try and gauge whether there is an issue with the ligaments or meniscus, and whether further investigation is needed. Massage will stimulate blood flow and assist to loosen muscles in order to keep range of movement and reduce pain/inflammation. Drop me a DM to see how I can help you today 😃

PLANTARFLEXION AND DORSIFLEXION - from assessing Amy’s foot mobility in previous sessions - when she’s in a relaxed position, her feet are naturally more pointed or in plantarflexion, to use the correct term. When assessing movement in the ankles there was limited dorsiflexion (when you pull your toes up towards you). This tells me that there is tightness in her calves, more so the right than the left. Her Achilles tendons also felt very tight - a possible reason why she can’t squat low without lifting her heels off the floor. This helped me to tailor her treatment accordingly so she got the most out of the session with me. From a previous video you can see that her dorsiflexion had improved after the treatment. She wasn’t injured, but recognised her body needed investing in to avoid injury with the amount of activities she does on a weekly basis.Want to see how I can help you?
