Learn how to cook simple, healthy recipes at our free Get Cooking course!

In our small supportive group, you will make new recipes each week to improve your confidence with practical cookery skills and learn how to have a balanced diet.

The course runs for 7 weeks, with a 2-hour session each week. You must be 16 years and over, and able to attend all 7 sessions.

Taking a vitamin D supplement is very important at this time of year ☁️

From October to March we can’t make enough vitamin D from sunlight, so to keep bones and muscles healthy, it’s best to take a daily 10 microgram supplement of vitamin D. You can get vitamin D from most pharmacies and retailers.

Tips to prevent iron-deficiency anaemia:
🥬 Choose foods rich in iron, folate, vitamin A and B12, such as legumes, eggs, meat, dark leaf vegetables, nuts and seeds
🍋 Eat citrus fruits and avoid drinking coffee and tea during meals to help you absorb iron from your food

Here are 5 tips to help you sleep better this New Year ⬇️
🔹 Be consistent. Go to bed at the same time each night and wake up at the same time each morning, including on weekends.
🔹 If possible, make your sleeping area quiet, dark, relaxing and at a comfortable temperature.
🔹
Limit the use of electronic devices, including TVs, computers and smartphones, before bedtime.
🔹 Avoid large meals, caffeine and alcohol before bedtime.
🔹 Get some exercise. Being physically active during the day can help you fall asleep more easily at night.
