Reflexology is a non invasive complementary health therapy. It involves using a specific technique of pressure massage that utilises the thumbs and fingers to stimulate particular points on the feet/hands. (Reflex Points) Reflexology is based on the theory that the hands and feet are a map of the body's organs, glands and tissues. Stimulating particular reflex points can enable the practitioner to stimulate corresponding systems and organs within the body.It is a deeply relaxing treatment which can allow the body to release built up tension and pain. The possible benefits of reflexology are felt to be:- Stress/tension/fatigue release Induced relaxation Rebalancing and regulation of energy Detoxifying Endorphin release - pain relief Circulation of blood and lymph improvement increased joint mobility Boosts Immune System Relieves digestive disorders Sleep issues relieved Improved overall well being Reflexology is used as a complementary therapy and not as an alternative therapy. Reflexology does not claim to cure, diagnose or prescribe. It works alongside and supports your medical practitioners advice.
