Planning with care during funeral awareness week, we are encouraging open and thoughtful conversations about future wishes.

Over the past year, we have been pleased to work alongside Deborah Meddins, The Herefordshire Family Celebrant supporting families across our community through love and loss.

Together, we have helped shape a gentle and practical workbook called “Lasting Legacy.”
It has been designed to guide individuals through recording their funeral wishes, personal reflections, and important practical details, all in their own time and in the comfort of their own home.

We know from experience that making decisions during a time of grief can feel overwhelming. Having wishes written down can bring clarity, reassurance, and comfort when it matters most.

Planning ahead is not about dwelling on death, it is about caring for the people we leave behind.

If you would like a copy of the “Lasting Legacy” workbook, please contact us directly at info@goldenvalleyfuneralservices.com and we will be happy to send one to you.

At this stage the workbook is only available as a PDF document for you to print out at home.

This is NOT a pre-paid funeral plan. It is a simple workbook for you to document your wishes.

Passed away on 28th January 2026 at Hereford County Hospital. Aged 54 years.

A loving brother to Clair, Michael and the late Sarah. A proud uncle to Liam, Kacey and Robbie. Step uncle to Sophie & Aurora.
A friend to many and will be greatly missed by all.

Simon's funeral service will be held at Hereford Crematorium on Thursday 19th February 2026 at 10.15am.

Family flowers only by request, donations if desired, made payable to 'Diabetes UK'

After what feels like a long, cold winter, the first crocus and daffodil shoots are appearing at Belmont roundabout. Certainly a welcomed sign of spring, with more colour to come in the weeks ahead!!

As we approach our 9th year of
Golden Valley Funeral Services, we have been taking a moment to reflect and would like to say thank you!
To our community, your trust, kindness, and continued support over the years has meant more to us than words can truly express. It is an honour to serve families at such important moments, and we never take that responsibility lightly.
We would also like to thank our own family, who support us in so many ways, often quietly and behind the scenes. Their patience, encouragement, and understanding make it possible for us to do what we do every day.

Looking ahead, we are especially excited as we begin training the next generation of our family to join our family business.
Passing on our values of care, dignity, and personal service is incredibly important to us, and we are proud to see Golden Valley Funeral Services continue to grow while staying true to who we are.
