Belmont Roundabout update:

Today we gave new life to something that might otherwise have gone to waste 🩵
We had a number of unwanted forget-me-not plants in our garden, so rather than discard them, we carefully upcycled and replanted them on Belmont roundabout.

Our hope is that, in time, they will establish themselves, spread, and bring a gentle touch of remembrance to a place so many pass by each day.

These now sit alongside the collection of 8,000 bulbs we’ve planted over the past couple of years.

It's so lovely to see the Fritillaria meleagris (aka snakes heads) growing around the edges! and the bridal crown daffodils still in bloom.

On International Women's Day we wanted to share a proud moment with you!

Recently our darling niece Abi supported at her first funeral after spending the last few months learning with us.

She’s grown up around the funeral home but is now starting to find her own place within it. Her kind, caring nature and calm way with people means she already has all the right qualities to be a future Funeral Director.

We are all so proud of you Abi King 🩶

IN MEMORY ❤️ | In Memory of Valerie May Meredith ‘Mama’.

Following a brave battle, Val passed away on 1st March 2026, St David’s Day.

Aged 86 years, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones.

Wonderful Mother to Sharon, Alan and Darren. Mother in Law to Jim, Sarah and Claire. Adored Mama to Carla, Meg, Dan, Ollie, Lyndon, Lucy, Harry, Taylor, Freddy, Betsy, Albert, Bobby and Frank.

A special thank you to St Michael's Hospice home team for their care.

Val’s funeral will be held at Much Birch Church on Wednesday 25th March 2026 for 1.30pm, followed by committal at Hereford Crematorium for 2.15pm.

Family flowers only by request, Donations if desired, made payable to St Michael’s Hospice.

Planning with care during funeral awareness week, we are encouraging open and thoughtful conversations about future wishes.

Over the past year, we have been pleased to work alongside Deborah Meddins, The Herefordshire Family Celebrant supporting families across our community through love and loss.

Together, we have helped shape a gentle and practical workbook called “Lasting Legacy.”
It has been designed to guide individuals through recording their funeral wishes, personal reflections, and important practical details, all in their own time and in the comfort of their own home.

We know from experience that making decisions during a time of grief can feel overwhelming. Having wishes written down can bring clarity, reassurance, and comfort when it matters most.

Planning ahead is not about dwelling on death, it is about caring for the people we leave behind.

If you would like a copy of the “Lasting Legacy” workbook, please contact us directly at info@goldenvalleyfuneralservices.com and we will be happy to send one to you.

At this stage the workbook is only available as a PDF document for you to print out at home.

This is NOT a pre-paid funeral plan. It is a simple workbook for you to document your wishes.
