At The Real Birth Company, we offer more than just a digital antenatal education programme, we provide a FEDANT-approved training course designed to empower midwives and birth professionals with the skills to deliver holistic, evidence-based care.

When RealBirth is implemented in your trust, a select group of midwives are trained as RealBirth Teachers, equipping them to support women in making confident, informed decisions about their birth experience.

Our training covers:

✨The physiology of birth
✨Supporting personalised care
✨Language around Birth
✨Teaching with the RealBirth Digital Workshop

RealBirth Teacher training is provided to NHS trusts as part of our implementation package, but it’s also available to independent midwives, doulas, and other birth professionals who want to offer exceptional antenatal education in their communities.

To find out more, visit the Training section on our website or book a call with our founder and midwife, Zoe.

🌟 Another Wonderful Birth Story! 🌟

[Names have been changed for privacy]

Maja had planned to give birth in a midwifery-led unit at the hospital. When her waters released, she went to the hospital and was admitted to the antenatal ward. However, as labour did not progress, there were no signs of tightening's or her cervix opening, Maja was advised that she had 24 hours to give birth due to the risk of infection. After consideration, she decided to be induced, feeling it was the best choice for both her and her baby.

Maja remained on the antenatal ward for 12 to 18 hours before being moved into a birthing room. She relied on breathing techniques, massage, and ultimately had an epidural to relieve any discomfort.

Although Maja's birth didn’t go as planned, she remained calm and positive throughout her experience. She said:

"As much as the birth did not go as planned, I felt calm throughout the experience, and my mindset remained fairly positive. I was aware of my rights and felt confident to advocate for myself."

Maja strongly agreed that The Real Birth Workshop empowered her to have a more positive pregnancy and labour experience, scoring it a 10/10! 🎉

Fasting in pregnancy is deeply personal — often rooted in faith, reflection, and spiritual wellbeing.

Pregnancy is also recognised as a time where religious concessions may apply — supporting women to make informed choices that protect both health and faith.

“I found it very helpful to have the personalisation options — having had a previous miscarriage. It really helped to have the additional mental burdens of that considered in the narrative throughout the course.”

Every pregnancy journey is different.

Previous loss can shape how families feel, think, and prepare — and education should recognise that with compassion.

Personalised learning means families feel seen, supported, and understood every step of the way 🤍

We held our one-day training session at yesterday — and what a brilliant turnout it was 👏

It was fantastic to spend the day with such an engaged group of midwives, exploring how we can continue to support preparation, informed choice, and personalised care in practice.

Thank you to everyone who joined us from The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, sharing reflections, and contributed so openly to the conversations. Days like this remind us how powerful it is to come together, learn, and strengthen the work happening across maternity services.

We’re so grateful to be working alongside you 🤍

Meet the Team 👋

Midwives often see the front end of our platform — but behind it is a team of developers who care deeply about getting it right.

João is one of them.

He works closely with our clinical and product teams to translate real maternity insight into safe, accessible digital tools that support both families and professionals.

Thoughtful, solutions-focused, and always patient with our ideas — João is a huge part of what makes the platform what it is today.

Fun fact: I have an identical twin. Think ‘main character’ and ‘emergency replacement'.

⭐Meet the Team⭐

I’m Marian, an account manager here at The Real Birth Company. My background is a little unconventional. I spent six years as an engineer before moving into account management. That technical foundation helps me bring a thoughtful, solutions-focused approach to everything I do. I’m passionate about maternal health, particularly improving outcomes for disadvantaged communities and working towards true equality in healthcare.
My favourite part of the job is seeing the confidence pregnant people gain once they’re educated about their options. Knowing they can make informed choices is incredibly powerful.

Outside of work, Marian loves exploring new places and trying great food, with Malaysian cuisine being a firm favourite.
Fun fact: Marian is really good at mental maths!

'I’m Kirsti, the Digital Midwife at The Real Birth Company. My background spans NHS community care, digital health, and university research into innovative medicines and digital devices. I believe passionately that all pregnant people deserve access to unbiased, physiological education to make informed choices. My favourite part of the job is analysing the data because seeing exactly who we are reaching helps us ensure that high quality antenatal education is accessible to everyone who needs it.'

Outside of work, Kirsti loves spending time with her partner and her rescue dog. She can be found reading a book, going to the gym or planning her next holiday to the USA.
Fun fact – Last year she read 50 books!
