We've had a wonderful day at Newstead House. We have been pampered. 💇‍♀️💅Then we danced the afternoon away with Kaz. Those that didn't join us on the dance floor wore smiles and tapped their toes to the beat! 👯‍♀️ Living our Best Lives

What a busy day at Newstead House 😁 This afternoon we held a session on Google maps , our new computer club started. We have been to Australia, Canada , Liverpool, Slovakia and to a little cottage in the middle of a field. Reminiscing our holidays and places we lived. We also made a coffee cake and 2x Bakewell tarts this morning. Great fun😊

Yesterday we made the most of the Sun 🌞. We took a gentle walk down to Churchill Gardens. Residents and staff sat and watched cheeky squirrel's play under the dapple shade of the trees 🌳 Here's to the simple pleasures of life!😊

All our Residents hope you had a very Happy Easter.🐰 They all have been so busy! We made Easter decorations, enough simnel cake to feed us all, chocolate nest's too.👌 We had an absolutely lovely afternoon with the children, grandchildren of our staff. They joined us for our Easter egg hunt today. We had a Beautiful service from Reverend Andy and Alex ❤️ and Fish and chips on Good Friday. Our Residents are off for a well earnt nap this afternoon. That's what they told us anyway!😂

It’s a sweet goodbye to Julie from Newstead House 💐
Julie, a Nurse Practitioner from HMG, has been an incredible support to everyone at Newstead. Your care, dedication, and kindness have made such a difference, and you will be truly missed. Wishing you all the very best as you move on to new pastures—you’ll be amazing wherever you go ❤️
We also want to give a special thank you to our fabulous Sally, our hairdresser, who we surprised with an Easter egg 🐣 Sally was so touched and grateful!
And of course, the residents thoroughly enjoyed the Baileys and chocolates you kindly gifted them for Easter—such a lovely treat! Thank you, Sally 💛

Just to prove love never fades , not with time, not with age, not even within the quiet walls of a care home.
These two people prove that love isn’t something that disappears over the years… it grows, it adapts, and it stays. In a place where days move a little slower and memories may come and go, their love still finds its way — in a look, a touch, or simply sitting side by side.
Because real love isn’t about grand gestures — it’s about choosing each other every single day, in every stage of life.
He surprised his lovely wife with a beautiful bouquet and walked her part of the way home. This was something he missed doing, so with a little help from the Newstead team we made it possible. 😊
Thank you to you both for sharing this special moment with us. May your love bloom always. 🤗

We have been to ! We gave the Easter bunny a break.🐰 A few of our ladies helped to choose Easter eggs for staff and residents. They also had a quick explore around the clothes. Then off to the Café, for a well deserved cuppa😁

Well, the residents have been busy this week! We have been getting our vegetable beds ready, tidying up the hanging baskets. 👌We then had the lovely Tracey from Musicare come and sing to us. 💃 The beautiful weather enticed a few more dancers! It's great to see everyone getting the rhythm of music and going for it! Spring has put a spring in everyone's step!😊 Living our Best Lives at Newstead House

Belated Happy St Patrick's Day! Our Residents immersed themselves in the Irish culture for the day. Some wore green to fend off those pinching leprechauns 🤣
We then tried a bit of Irish dancing, the mind was willing though the legs were not cooperating. So, we moved on to traditional Irish folk music, a few Irish creams, whisky and a pint or 2 of Guinness. 😊 Our lovely cook, Sarah, prepared a traditional Irish lunch with a chocolate and Guinness cake to top it off! Thank you for going the extra mile 🤗

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful women in our community. 💐
At Newstead House we celebrated with afternoon tea, enjoying delicious cakes made by our residents and served with our best china. ☕🍰
Today we celebrate not only mothers, but all the amazing women who nurture, support and care for others in so many ways. Wishing you all a lovely Mother’s Day. 💕 Here are just a few 📸 of some of our amazing women.🤗

We had a day all about the Philippines at Newstead House. Our lovely Belinda cooked up a storm in the kitchen with Miha as an assistant chef (Role reversed)!😂 Belinda shared her culture and we all learnt something new. We made a sweet dessert.😋 In the afternoon we made some traditional Filipino fans. Residents and staff enjoyed the food and the fun. A big thank you to Belinda for making the day so special.❤️

At Newstead House, one-to-one time gives people the chance to be listened to 👂
A simple chat, a laugh, or spending time together can brighten someone’s day 😊
It helps people feel valued, heard, and important 💙
It also means those who cannot physically attend activities can still feel included and connected 🤝✨
A one to one walk is always an uplifting experience too. We are lucky enough to have Churchill Gardens so close. To look out reflect and have someone to talk to. This makes an impacts more than words can express. Here's to being seen and heard.
