As you may know, Dan Pembroke, who works at the centre as a sports massage therapist, is an Olympic Gold Medallist having won Gold in the Javelin at the 2021 Tokyo Paralympics. He's now in Paris going for Gold again!

For all of us who want to watch and cheer Dan on, his lovely wife Martina, also a massage therapist at the centre, has put together details of when and where you can watch Dan's event later this week.

Dan Pembroke will be competing at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.
His event is Javelin Throw F13

Dan currently is the reigning Paralympic, European and World champion for the F13 category, and having won a gold medal in Tokyo 2021 Games is going there to defend his title of champion.

Dan's competition will be Thursday 5th of September at 7.45pm UK time.

Dan Pembroke massage therapy

📣 𝗣𝗔𝗥𝗔𝗟𝗬𝗠𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗦 | Good Luck to Hereford based Dan Pembroke that next week will be competing in the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

Dan will be in the French capital to defend his title of Paralympic champion in the F13 category javelin throw.

Pembroke started javelin throw in secondary school with very promising results in several national and international competitions then due to an elbow injury took a break from sport.
He was born with a degenerative eye condition which leaves him with less than 10% vision left leading to complete blindness in the future.
For this reason in 2019, he moved to Hereford and enrolled at the Royal College for the Blind to qualify as a Sports Massage Therapist.

During that time started to throw the javelin again training daily at Halo Leisure Centre and athletics track; due to his eyesight deterioration he was then classified with the para sport for the F13 category and has been competing in the national para athletics team since.

🥇 Dan Pembroke won a Gold Medal in the previous Paralympic Games in Tokyo 2021 with a huge throw of 69.52 mt and at the moment is the reigning European, World, and Paralympic Champion for the F13 category.

In the Paris 2024 Paralympic games he's just been nominated captain of the para athletics team.
