This book was recommended to me by someone I met at a wedding at the start of the year.
Why? Because I answered them honestly when they asked me if there is anything in my life I am struggling with that I share in common with some of my client's...yes...TECH!

Most specifically my relationship with my phone and how much time I lose to it. πŸ“±πŸ€³β³οΈ

That conversation inspired some changes in habits with my phone that I knew I *should* do but never really committed to.

The first and most sustained change: charging my phone in a different room to where I sleep and not looking at it until after I have eaten my breakfast in the morning.
This amongst several other changes I have made (and maintained) have GENUINELY helped improve:
My sleep, my concentration, my anxiety, my mood, my relationships and my ability to feel gratitude.

This book has helped support my intention to change my habits through conversations and research involving people who were responsible for designing some of the most attention grabbing apps including FB and Instagram.

It's available to stream on Spotify and buy on audible and will be on the book shelf for anyone who wants to borrow it.

Ps. irony of sharing this on an attention grabbing platform is not lost on me!

Heading into the week ahead feeling grateful for the time, opportunity and support from a friend to venture up the Cats Back during a week off from client work.

It felt so good to be able to move at our own pace, catch up on each other's news and take our time, taking in the views. πŸŒžβ›°οΈ

Feeling very grateful that I get to look forward to returning to my job and reconnecting with my clients after some much needed R & R.

Anyone waiting on responses via text/call/email will hear back from me over the next couple of days. Thank you for your patience.

Enjoying the scent that these beautiful flowers are releasing as well as their beautiful spring colours πŸ˜ŠπŸ’

Thank you to my colleagues at The Body Clinic Leominster for gifting me these beautiful blooms on my final day of counselling in Leominster last week.

I have been proudly associated with since they opened in April 2021.

I am honourwd and grateful to have seen this fantastic business build, and provide such a high standard of service and support to the community of Leominster.

From volunteer, to placement student, paid member of staff and launching it has been a personal journey that I am proud of also. I am eternally grateful to Luana, Joanna and Charlie for their support and advice through it all.

Forever grateful, forever a champion of your work! Thank you,
Beth

I recently discovered 's app which is a FREE app launched by CALM (Campaign Against Living Miserably) a charity supporting su***de prevention and mental health across the UK.

The CALM in the Zone app offers simple tools to manage stress, quiet the noise, and find calm when life feels overwhelming.

It features articles and activities about all things mental health related, with ways and means to help promote and manage yours, including journalling, self care, and audio tools.

I've been using it as a tool to support my own mental health and am finding it to be a helpful alternative app to have on my phone to help resist the temptation of doom scrolling!

πŸ“’ INTRODUCING: Lisa Johnson - Our newest associate therapist from Auralis Psychotherapy

Lisa is a Transactional Analysis Psychotherapist in advanced training, with a postgraduate Level 7 psychotherapy qualification and a background in Counselling.

Lisa has over 30 years of experience in person-centred corporate roles, giving her a strong understanding of the emotional impact of change across a range of contexts. Retraining as a psychotherapist felt like a natural progression toward supporting people in more personal and meaningful ways.

Her work is grounded in Transactional Analysis, a powerful evidence-based approach that explores how early life experiences shape patterns of thinking, feeling, and relating in adulthood. Developing awareness of these patterns can help identify what no longer serves, opening up new possibilities for choice, authenticity, and fulfilment.

Lisa works with anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, and emotional regulation and has particular interest in trauma-informed practice and supporting neurodivergent individuals. She is especially drawn to work shaped by early experiences, including recurring relational patterns, inner critical voices, feeling stuck, and long held beliefs. Her approach is collaborative and compassionate, supporting deeper self understanding.

Lisa has availability for face to face appointments from our Hereford practice on Friday afternoons from 6th February.

Send an email to herefordshirecounselling@gmail.com, drop us a DM or complete the appointment request form on our website to book your free consultation.
