‘Just A Carer’- Emma Pinnell
You’re JUST a carer,
You said to me,
But you don’t get,
To see what we see.
You see a face,
That’s old and wise,
We see the truth,
Sometimes covered by lies.
You see a body,
That’s frail and slow,
We see the joy,
That they still know.
We see the spark,
In their eyes,
We hear their stories,
And their cries.
We see the love,
That they still give,
We see the life,
That they still live.
We see the pain,
That they still hide,
We see the strength,
That they feel inside.
We see the person,
Not just the need,
We see the soul,
That we must feed.
So when you say,
"Just a carer," it’s true,
But you don’t see,
What we see, do you?
