Sometimes the photos we receive after a chair delivery are the best part of our week 🧡

After setting up AJ's new Chunc chair earlier this week, his family shared this lovely picture from school. Seeing him sitting comfortably, well supported, and looking so happy put a big smile on our faces.

Every child deserves seating that helps them feel comfortable, supported, and able to enjoy their day. For AJ, having the right support in the right places is helping him sit more comfortably and confidently.

A huge thank you to AJ's family for allowing us to be part of his journey. We can't wait to see all the amazing things he gets up to in his new chair! ✨

We’re delighted to welcome Luke to the Chunc team as our new Seating Specialist.

Luke brings with him over 15 years of experience leading outdoor education centres, with a real passion for creating inclusive, accessible experiences for young people with additional needs.

Alongside his professional experience, Luke also brings valuable lived experience supporting a young person with complex needs and wheelchair use, giving him a genuine understanding of the importance of seating, mobility, and day-to-day independence.

In addition, Luke has spent the past two years working in emergency pre-hospital care, supporting NHS services with patient transfers and high-dependency care. This has given him a strong clinical understanding of mobility, anatomy, and physiology, which he now brings to his role at Chunc.

Luke’s combination of professional expertise, clinical knowledge, and personal insight makes him a fantastic addition to our team, and we’re excited for the difference he’ll make to the children, families, and clinicians we support.

We loved visiting Paige and her family as she gets ready for her new Chunc chair. After trying out her demo chair and confirming her perfect fit, Paige was all smiles - and we think the pink covers she chose are going to make it extra special.

What a fantastic day at Kidz to Adultz Exhibitions South!

Without a doubt our busiest event yet, and such an incredible atmosphere from start to finish. It was great to reconnect with so many familiar faces, meet new families, clinicians and professionals, and have so many meaningful conversations about specialist seating and how rapid access solutions can make a real difference.

A real highlight was catching up with the wonderful Dinky Doris’ Diagnosis (who proudly features on our stand!) and seeing Bob again, who continues to make great use of his Chunc chair. Moments like these are exactly why we do what we do.

A huge thank you as well to everyone who joined our seminar on rapid access specialist seating. It was fantastic to see such engagement, thoughtful questions, and shared discussion around supporting safe discharge, recovery and postural management when time really matters.

Thank you to everyone who visited us on stand A1, attended the seminar, shared their experiences, and took the time to stop for a chat.

And of course, thank you to the organisers of Kidz to Adultz for another brilliantly run event.

Every seating system we build helps improve mobility, comfort and independence, and now we’re looking for a hands-on Production Operative to join our team.

This is a varied, practical role supporting assembly, refurbishment, stores and dispatch within a fast-paced workshop environment. You’ll work on meaningful products, take pride in quality workmanship, and be part of a supportive production team where experience and reliability really matter.

What you’ll be doing:
• Assembling, testing and refurbishing wheelchair systems
• Supporting stores, packing and dispatch operations
• Using hand and power tools in a workshop environment
• Maintaining high standards of quality and safety
• Assisting with UK-wide collections and deliveries when required

Finding the right chair can change everything

For years, Kian had been using a wheelchair that wasn’t quite right. It was heavy, tricky to manoeuvre, and he was never fully comfortable - at one point it even caused a pressure sore.

After surgery, Kian tried a Chunc Spica chair for the first time. The difference was incredible. He was instantly more relaxed, comfortable, and happy to stay seated, while his mum found it so much easier to use.

With Personal Wheelchair Budget funding, the family decided to invest in a permanent Chunc wheelchair. During the assessment, our team brought a demo Chunc One and made all the adjustments needed to fit Kian perfectly. His mum said it best:

“Once everything was adjusted to fit him, we could see straight away how much happier and more comfortable he was. That made the decision really easy for us.”

❄️ Why postural management matters even more in winter ❄️

As the colder months set in, many children with complex postural needs spend more time indoors, sit for longer periods, and move less. This can make good positioning more important than ever.

If seating and posture aren’t supported properly, it can lead to:
🔹 Increased discomfort or pain
🔹 Higher risk of pressure sores
🔹 Breathing difficulties
🔹 Reduced ability to participate in daily activities

Consistent, well-supported seating helps children stay comfortable, maintain good posture, and continue participating in everyday life, even during the winter months.
