Finding the right chair can change everything

For years, Kian had been using a wheelchair that wasn’t quite right. It was heavy, tricky to manoeuvre, and he was never fully comfortable - at one point it even caused a pressure sore.

After surgery, Kian tried a Chunc Spica chair for the first time. The difference was incredible. He was instantly more relaxed, comfortable, and happy to stay seated, while his mum found it so much easier to use.

With Personal Wheelchair Budget funding, the family decided to invest in a permanent Chunc wheelchair. During the assessment, our team brought a demo Chunc One and made all the adjustments needed to fit Kian perfectly. His mum said it best:

“Once everything was adjusted to fit him, we could see straight away how much happier and more comfortable he was. That made the decision really easy for us.”

❄️ Why postural management matters even more in winter ❄️

As the colder months set in, many children with complex postural needs spend more time indoors, sit for longer periods, and move less. This can make good positioning more important than ever.

If seating and posture aren’t supported properly, it can lead to:
🔹 Increased discomfort or pain
🔹 Higher risk of pressure sores
🔹 Breathing difficulties
🔹 Reduced ability to participate in daily activities

Consistent, well-supported seating helps children stay comfortable, maintain good posture, and continue participating in everyday life, even during the winter months.

Yes. Every Chunc wheelchair is fully crash-tested and certified for safe use in Wheelchair Accessible Vehicles.

🧡 Will someone come out to do an assessment?
Absolutely. One of our seating specialists can visit you in person to make sure the chair is set up comfortably and safely.

🧡 Do you cover all areas of the UK?
Yes. Our team provides support right across the UK.

🧡 What funding options are available?
We can help guide you through different routes including NHS, charities, private purchase and mixed funding. Just ask; we’re always happy to talk things through.

🧡 Do you offer training?
Yes, we provide training for schools, therapy teams and services, helping them understand how to get the best from Chunc seating.
