Great to be part of this week’s 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝗺𝗹𝗲𝘆 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 & 𝗟𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗯 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘄𝗮𝘆 update meeting, where Kelly and Peter delivered educational workshops for clinicians.

It was an engaging and collaborative session, with valuable discussions around best practice in 𝘄𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲, 𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 across the pathway. 📖✨ 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 - 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗼 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆?

As you may (or may not) know, our head office and manufacturing site are based in Germany, in the beautiful historic town of Bayreuth - also known as the home of composer 𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝗴𝗻𝗲𝗿 🎼.

But medi’s story begins back in 1951, when Wolfgang Weihermueller made a bold, life-changing decision - crossing the border from former East Germany under the cover of night with his production machines 🚚.

Together with his cousin, Guenter Voigtmann, they set up just three 🧵 knitting machines in a former Bayreuth dance hall 💃 and began producing medical “rubber stockings”.

🏆 In 1975, 𝗺𝗲𝗱𝗶 𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗽𝘆 with the first transparent, seamless, elastic mediven stocking - and the rest, as they say, is history.

Here’s a great moment from our Skills Zone session at Wound Care Today 🎥

Rachael led a hands-on demo of our 𝗨𝗖𝗦 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘁𝗵𝘀 using the “pen trick” - clinicians wrote on the back of their hand, placed the cloth on top for a couple of seconds… and watched it lift away the ink 👀

No wiping. No friction. Just a simple way to show how 𝗨𝗖𝗦 𝗱𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 is both gentle and effective at removing biofilm and cleansing the surrounding skin.

The reactions say it all 👏
