I’ve been quiet on socials lately. I’ve not had the inclination and by not spending time scrolling, my time is much more abundant.

It was a lovely surprise to see one of my regular clients not only turn up with wisteria from her garden today but also arranged and in a vase…super thoughtful and it smells and looks heavenly!

I’m taking the wisteria home as it’s too beautiful not to see everyday!

We have just had a new moon in Aries and an eclipse. I'm not sure about you but I've been feeling quite tired despite sleeping well! The advice is to not take action, rest and wait until this energy clears at the beginning of May. Ok, we can't rest everyday but you know what I mean...just to take the time to 'be' and not keeping 'doing'. Easier said than done huh?

I've recently really got more into astrology as I've been charting my own planets for a few months and seeing how the themes are playing out in my life. This means journalling regularly and really paying attention to the subtleties that arise.

A huge transition and change has just occurred for me which is why I've been somewhat lying low. It's ok to do this when you are called to and it's ok to do this when you just can't be both-red to engage with online life too. I am much preferring cultivating my personal friendships and getting out and about than spending time on my phone anyway!

Anyone else feeling like this?

SAVE THE DATE!!! **7th May**

Whilst we wait for venue confirmation, the next Chakradance is due to run on Sunday 7th May.

A lot of people have been asking when we are running another one as they find the process so therapeutic, the music so activating and the whole experience uplifting.

We trialled a 'pay what you can' session before Christmas and is went really well but due to the rising costs of the hall hire, we are having to go back to a set price.

The price now is £15 if you book before Wednesday 3rd May. The price will go up to £25 after. We also need a minimum of 6 people to run the event so please share and get your friends to come along! We only have 18 spaces.

As well as being a holistic therapist, I also work behind the scenes in food photography. I have done this role for Sainsbury's Magazine, The Sunday Times Magazine and Waitrose Weekend.

Did you know I have been a preliminary judge for the only food photography awards in the world, The Pink Lady Food Photography Awards?

As a result...I put on a stone when I started working at Sainsbury's Magazine after taking quite a while to lose it!

1. With my beloved dog (RIP) Herbie on a photoshoot - he would often come up on the train with me when i worked in a studio or on location.

2. A leaving card from The Sunday Times Magazine 'The Dish' which was the monthly food magazine

3. Another leaving card from Sainsury's Magzine...leaving cards with your face on the cover and mock-up cover lines were par for the course when working on magazines.

4. With Tom Kerridge outside The Hand in Flowers in Margate...a lovely man. Had the pleasure of meeting him quite a few times.

5. Eating a birthday cake at Sainsbury's Magazine...always delicious when made by the food team

Thought you might enjoy some pieces of me!

A Breath of Fresh Air

I created this blend to clear and bring an uplifting aroma to a room.

There isn't a doiminating aroma in this blend, rather the spearmint gently swims along in the background of the lemony aroma of may chang and lets the blood orange sing first.

May chang is a small fragrant tropical tree that produces a small fruit looking like a cubeb pepper. It's often compared with lemongrass but its odour is slightly more refined and less heady. It has a refreshing citrus aroma that can help with anxiety plus it brings about an alertness and optimistic state of mind.

Spearmint is a lot softer than its peppermint brother, having an uplifting effect without being quite as strong. It helps to combat mental fatigue and negative feelings.

Finally, the blood orange helps to compliment the other oils, giving it some longevity whilst adding a final zing and freshness to the final aroma profile.

USE FOR
To Aid concentration, when working from home, to uplift on a dull and cloudy day, to bring a refreshing and light aroma to your space.

Last year amongst the lavender , one of the yearly highlights for an aromatherapist. Looking forward to getting back there this year and seeing how the weather has effected the harvest.

My special offer has been doing really well so I've decided to extend it

30 minute back neck and shoulder massage will soon go back to the price of £35 on the Friday 7th April so if you want to take advantage of £5 off, do book in before that date.

Also, the back, neck and shoulder and facial special has been really popular so I’m extending this offer until Saturday 22nd April. After this date, the price will be going up to £60 so take advantage whilst it’s there!

Keeping it real as a holistic therapist...I'm not square, stuck up or too 'proper'...so things like this do make me chuckle!

But as a very quick guide...
St John's Wort - I use as a carrier in blends when someone has body pain
Lavender - goes with so many things but generally balances the body and enduces calm
Bay Leaf - i have as a hydrolat water to cleanse and tone the lymphatic system although it does taste pretty rank
Edlderberry - not one I use
Valerian root - Great for sleep although have to get the dosage just right or it swings the other way!
Yarrow - Great for skin conditions like psoriasis

So there you go...humour meets education :)

One of my passions is travel...i just love to visit new places and take in the world. i've not done so much of this in the last 3 or so years, partly due to the pandemic but also due to the fact that I've had a career change (which then comes with lack of finances!)

But before that, I spent quite a few years travelling as part of my job working in magazines and going on lots of amazing work trips...

1. Nevis Island circa 2016
I was lucky enough to visit the place that Princess Diana used to stay at. i can't remember it's name but it was simply glorious. it was about 4 or 5 days of pure luxury.

2. Dolomites, Italy, 2016
i would often go away with groups of people I didn't know, which used to be quite nerve wracking, but would always be wonderful. On this mountain trip to the Dolomites, we all became firm friends and I had one of the best birthday's ever...hard to believe I turned 40 here. I felt like a 20 year old!

3. Madeira, 2018
On a press trip for Psychologies Magazine, and I was determined to go down the hill in a basket, despite the rain.

4. France, 2018
4 days driving around France and this canoe trip shall never be forgotten...probably for the wrong reasons!

5. Palm Springs, 2015
My first commission for Sainsbury's Magazine to Palm Springs was just a joy. Gosh it was so hot..here I am taking a day off, up in the mountains viewing the dry desert.

6. Udaipur, India, 2014
The trip that got me wanting to travel more. The most luxurious trip to India and I was transfixed. Here I am taking in the scenery on Lake Pichola in Udaipur, actually never wanting to leave.

What have been your favourite travel trips?
