🌞 Supporting Haydon Mayer’s Summer Fete – Saturday 16th August 🌸

We’re proud to be supporting Haydon Mayer as they host their upcoming Summer Fete on Saturday 16th August – a wonderful community event that promises to be a fun-filled day for all!

We’ve had the pleasure of working with the lovely Amber to arrange a donation of a raffle hamper, which will be one of the many exciting attractions on the day. 🎁

There will also be:
🍔 Delicious food stalls
🎶 Live entertainment
🎉 Plenty more activities for residents, families, and visitors to enjoy!

All proceeds from the day will go directly to the Residents’ Fund, helping to provide engaging daily activities and experiences for the residents of Haydon Mayer.

We’re delighted to be involved and hope the day is a great success for everyone. If you’re in the area, do pop along and support this fantastic cause!

John Kemp spent some time at the RSPCA-Canterbury and District Animal Centre yesterday doing some volunteer work 💙It always feels good to help out where we can, and we're lucky to have such a great relationship with the amazing team there.
One of the main tasks was helping to restore a much-loved bench in the garden - a small way to give back, but something that means a lot to the people (and animals) who enjoy it 🌿
And of course, no visit would be complete without giving some well - deserved fuss to the residents 🐱🐾

A one-of-a-kind send off for a one-of-a-kind person 💛🛻

This week, we had the privilege of helping a family say farewell to their loved one, a true Only Fools and Horses fan, with an unforgettable tribute featuring the iconic Trotters Independent Trading Co. hearse.

From the moment it arrived, it brought smiles, memories, and a sense of joy — a perfect reflection of the gentleman we were there to celebrate.

✨ A Touching Moment in Whitstable ✨

Last week, a family came to Whitstable for a sunny sea side holiday. It was a peaceful break for a husband, his siblings, and their partners. Sadly, just a week before the trip, the husband’s elder sister Velma lost her beloved husband, Tony.

Still, Velma decided to come along.

On their first day, two of the family members went for a walk along the coastal path and came across a lonely bouquet of flowers. After checking for a note they were surprised to read the message and instinctively knew the bouquet should go to Velma.

When she received it, and they told her how it was found, she was deeply moved. At a time of grief, that small, unexpected act of kindness brought real comfort. 💐

The timing, the gesture—it felt meant to be. A quiet reminder that love and compassion show up in the most unexpected ways.

We send our heartfelt condolences to Velma and the whole family and hope that the bouquet gave Velma and you all a little joy at this sad time ❤️

Susan and Tess had a fantastic meeting today with the lovely Louise at Strode Park Foundation in Herne 🌿

We had a really positive and productive conversation about the amazing community work happening there — and how we can support and get involved.

We were also treated to a tour of the beautiful grounds — such a peaceful and calming space, full of care and purpose.

Strode Park Foundation provides vital support services for people with a range of disabilities. With residential homes in Herne, Canterbury, Faversham, and Rainham, they offer tailored support to meet all levels of need — from supported living that encourages independence, to 24-hour nursing and neuro-rehabilitation for complex disabilities. Their work is an essential part of the local community, and we’re excited about ways to collaborate going forward.
