Today I’m putting my brave girl Knick Knacks on and officially launching my aesthetic clinic The Face Place.
I will be continuing to work within psychiatry and the NHS, and wasn’t sure aesthetics would be for me. As many of you know I’m more of a hearts and mind kinda gal than an appearances led one.
I’ve since come to see that was my own limited understanding of what aesthetics is about for many. Hearing the stories behind peoples decision to have aesthetics treatments; and seeing the outcomes, particularly on a persons self esteem has been awesome. Nursing to improve the quality of lives for others absolutely fulfils my purpose.
I was also surprised how many of my skills from psychiatry overlapped. The importance of understanding a persons motivation and aims for treatment, and making a shared plan which leaves them feeling empowered and in control is a vitally important aspect of my nursing care.
I am an advanced nurse practitioner and nurse prescriber, so providing safe, informed treatment and follow up is of utmost importance to me. I qualified at Harley street in May 2021 in anti wrinkle treatments; dermal fillers and lip enhancement. I went on to specialise in skin boosters Profhilo: Sunekos and Jalupro.
These treatments have enabled me to help women regain what is naturally lost from our 30’s, and significantly reduced during the menopause; to restore their skin; look less tired and have a face which more accurately reflects how they feel. I have enjoyed the stories and humour these women have shared as well as the joy in their results.
