Our story

The MIU (Minor Injuries Unit) is based within the Herne Bay Integrated Care Centre based at The Queen Victoria Memorial Hospital (QVMH) in Herne Bay. The unit was created by all of the GP Surgeries in the town working together to create a service for the residents of the town. The unit is run by Paramedic Practitioners and HealthCare Assistants.

We recently introduced a weekend GP service for patients who are registered with a Herne Bay GP. These appointments are pre-bookable via your GP surgery. This is in no way to replace the National out of hours service NHS111. If you urgently need to see a GP outside of surgery hours you should still ring 111.
