Marisa's Reflexology

Marisa's Reflexology Marisa is a mobile reflexologist for feet, hands and ears and Indian Head Massage therapist and Spir Reflexology works through nerve endings and reflex points.

The actual technique is unique as it affects the reflex and not just the surface of the skin. Pressure sensors in the feet and hands are a part of the body's reflexive response that makes possible the "fight or flight" reaction to danger. Reflexology taps into this reflex network, providing an exercise of pressure sensors and thus the internal organs to which they are inextricably tied. Indian Head Massage has advantages over a full body massage as it is less intimate and a good introduction to massage for a reserved person. The treatment is usually worked on bare shoulders using oils or if preferred it can be carried out whilst wearing clothes. It starts with a massage to the back neck and shoulders, moves onto your scalp and then onto the face.

I'm a mobile therapist and happily carry out the treatment in your own home. I am also a therapist with the Harmony Therapy Trust, giving treatment to people with life changing illness.

This week has been pretty quiet and so I’ve been able to work on my admin. – The boring stuff! :D hence, I’ve had a chance to get to grips with this social media conundrum. This week has also been one of my Sovereign House weeks. For the last 10 years, every couple of weeks, I’ve visited Sovereign House Residential Care Home in Herne Bay to give short reflexology hand massages to the ladies that live there. We always have a nice time. I tell them what I’ve been up to, what the weathers up to, what’s growing in the garden at the moment, and we gossip, about their family and how many siblings they have, what their wearing, what their knitting, their favourite biscuits and the state of the world in general and in years gone by. Sometimes they tell me about the old days, how they used to go on dates with their future husband, boys they used to know or how they snuck out of the house without their father knowing to go to the local dancehall and mother would let them back in so he never found out! They are fantastic women! Sometimes there’s a sing-a-long in the lounge and I cant help joining in, or sometimes the ladies and the amazing girls that look after them colour in themed pictures to decorate the front windows. At the moment its Autumnal Browns and Oranges and the mantelpiece and dining room are adorned with garlands of golden leaves and pumpkin tablecloths. I recall the odd occasion when I helped steer the carpet boules in the right-‘ish’ direction. Yeah, its not really working but it is the best job in the world.
If you’re looking for a relaxing hand or foot reflexology treatment in Herne Bay, Whitstable, Canterbury or at Lake House Kent in Ashford I’d love to help you unwind too.

It’s World Menopause Day. We can’t pretend to know what you’re going through, but we can try to show you we care.

Trying very hard to become social media savvy. I've created this poster for Instagram 🦸🏻‍♀️ quite pleased with myself. It's for my new venture at The Lake House, Ashford but I'll still be mobile in the local Herne Bay, Whitstable, Canterbury area 👏🏻👣🤩

🌿 A little update from me! 🌿

This week I’ve been learning how to use social media a bit better to help spread the word about my Reflexology. I love what I do, but I know there are lots more people out there who’d really benefit from it! 💚

I’ve never been great with Instagram, but I’m giving it another go – so if that’s your thing, please give me a follow! And if you’ve had a treatment and enjoyed it, I’d be so grateful for a quick Google review – it really helps people find me for mobile Reflexology around Herne Bay and nearby areas. 🌸

Next week it’s admin time and a little relaunch prep… exciting things coming! ✨
