This week has been pretty quiet and so I’ve been able to work on my admin. – The boring stuff! :D hence, I’ve had a chance to get to grips with this social media conundrum. This week has also been one of my Sovereign House weeks. For the last 10 years, every couple of weeks, I’ve visited Sovereign House Residential Care Home in Herne Bay to give short reflexology hand massages to the ladies that live there. We always have a nice time. I tell them what I’ve been up to, what the weathers up to, what’s growing in the garden at the moment, and we gossip, about their family and how many siblings they have, what their wearing, what their knitting, their favourite biscuits and the state of the world in general and in years gone by. Sometimes they tell me about the old days, how they used to go on dates with their future husband, boys they used to know or how they snuck out of the house without their father knowing to go to the local dancehall and mother would let them back in so he never found out! They are fantastic women! Sometimes there’s a sing-a-long in the lounge and I cant help joining in, or sometimes the ladies and the amazing girls that look after them colour in themed pictures to decorate the front windows. At the moment its Autumnal Browns and Oranges and the mantelpiece and dining room are adorned with garlands of golden leaves and pumpkin tablecloths. I recall the odd occasion when I helped steer the carpet boules in the right-‘ish’ direction. Yeah, its not really working but it is the best job in the world.
If you’re looking for a relaxing hand or foot reflexology treatment in Herne Bay, Whitstable, Canterbury or at Lake House Kent in Ashford I’d love to help you unwind too.
