I work with all ages, all joints of the body and with varied conditions to reduce pain, improve mobility and help people return to a life they can enjoy. I am Natalie and I am a registered Osteopath based in Hertford. I specialise in back, neck and shoulder pain, and nerve-related symptoms, such as sciatica. I work with people of all ages, on all joints of the body and with varied conditions to reduce pain, improve mobility and help people return to or continue with work, sports and a life they can enjoy. Whether your pain is caused by your job, your posture, a sports injury, a hobby, pregnancy or is a symptom of a diagnosed condition, if it’s cause is related to the joints or muscles of the body osteopathy can help. Osteopathy provides hands-on treatment combining techniques that involve massage of soft tissues (muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia), movement of soft tissues and joints, and manipulation of the joints and nervous system. The aim is to increase joint movement, relieve muscle tensions and increase blood flow and nerve supply to tissues. My particular interests lie in pain perception, pre and postnatal musculoskeletal problems, lower back pain, shoulders, nerve pain and the effects of foot biomechanics on gait and posture. I listen to and approach each person I treat as a unique individual, considering how their posture, work, hobbies, medical background and lifestyle have influenced their condition and symptoms. I consider the entire physical, emotional and social wellbeing of the people I treat. I graduated from the London College of Osteopaths, where I retrained after a career in medical education and communications. I worked with pharmaceutical companies, The Royal Marsden Hospital and the Institute of Cancer Research where I developed an interest in the treatment and management of chronic pain and the impact pain has on peoples’ daily lives. During my 5 years of study to become an osteopath I also worked as a Sports Massage and Musculoskeletal Therapist at the Barnes Physiotherapy Practice in Hertford. Updated website is LIVE!

Please take a look for information and frequently asked questions about osteopathic treatment for pregnancy, paediatrics and postnatal assessments.

Also updated are other types of treatments I offer alongside osteopathy to help relieve joint and nerve pain, improve or speed up healing, and to alleviate symptoms associated with many different conditions, such as osteoarthritis, plantar fasciitis and tendinopathies. These include acupuncture, Shockwave and MLS Laser therapy.

I will post more information on each of these over the coming weeks.

Hope you've all had a good weekend.

Thank you for the generous presents. It has been a real priviledge to work with my wonderful colleagues at The Barnes Physiotherapy Practice Ltd, Back to Health Hertford, Body Mechanix Harpenden: Osteopathic, Health & Wellness Clinic and the Osteopathic Centre for Children this year. It has been a joy to meet and treat the very small to the very tall in Hertford, Harpenden and London.

Another great weekend of training on the pelvic floor and more with Sarah Norris and Hannah Poulton . Great techniques for assessing and treating pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain and incontinence.

When treating newborns and infants you know how important the relationship between mother and baby is. Making sure mums are healing well, happy and healthy is so important to getting the best treatment results for the baby. Sadly, so many mums put themselves last.

Great day this weekend training at The Mummy MOT. Fantasic techniques for the abdominal/visceral area giving a 360 degree approach to treating back and pelvic pain, as well as helping with changes due to pregnancy. Also some lovely techniques for easing bladder symptoms, endometriosis and constipation.

Great to be back at the Osteopathic Centre for Children clinic at St John's Church in Hoxton after a Christmas break. It's a joy working with children and a real priviledge working with some of the best paediatric osteopaths in the country. The centre is a charity providing osteopathy to all children and new mums no matter what they can afford to pay.

Children can have such profound changes with very gentle techniques, helping their bodies be best placed to negotiate growth and development, and setting them up to be in their best health for the future. It's great to be part of this!
