Yesterday, as part of Dementia Awareness Week, we were pleased to host our Dementia Workshop, led by Leigh.

Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

This week, we’ve been recognising the importance of mental wellbeing and taking time to support one another.

To help promote small moments of self-care, we’ve been sharing extra daily staff snacks, and our Mental Health Awareness Cart has been filled with treats, resources, and little pick-me-ups to brighten the day.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to our amazing team for embracing this week, supporting one another, and helping create such a positive and caring environment. 🤗

Sometimes, the smallest gestures can make the biggest difference. Let’s continue to encourage open conversations, kindness, and a workplace culture where mental wellbeing is always a priority. 💚

💚 Mental Health Awareness Week 💚

Simple things you can actually do, rather than abstract advice:

1. Check in with yourself honestly

Ask:

* How am I feeling physically and mentally?
* What’s draining me right now?
* What’s helping me feel steady?

Even a quick 2-minute reflection can help spot patterns.

2. Protect your basic foundations

Mental health is strongly affected by:

* Sleep
* Regular meals
* Movement
* Hydration
* Time outside / daylight

These are easy to neglect when stressed.

3. Reduce one source of overload

Pick **one thing** creating unnecessary mental pressure:

* Constant notifications
* Overcommitting
* Doomscrolling
* Avoiding a task that’s hanging over you

Make one small adjustment this week.

4. Make space to pause

This could be:

* 10 minutes without screens
* A walk
* Journaling
* Reading
* Sitting quietly with no input

The goal is giving your mind recovery time.

5. Reach out intentionally

Connection matters.

Message or call someone you trust, not only when things are bad, but to maintain support.

6. Notice your self-talk

Catch thoughts like:

* “I should be coping better”
* “I’m behind”
* “I can’t slow down”

Ask whether they’re accurate or just pressure speaking.

7. Do one thing that restores you

Not just distracts you.

Restorative activities often include:

* Exercise
* Creative hobbies
* Nature
* Meaningful conversation
* Prayer/meditation
* Doing something slowly

8. Seek support early if needed

If stress, anxiety, low mood, or burnout are building, talking to:

* A friend
* A GP
* A therapist/counsellor
* A support service

is often easier earlier than later.

Cheers to celebrating World Cocktail Day with our lovely Belmont family! 🍹✨

We enjoyed the most delicious mocktails together, including a classic Virgin Piña Colada, a refreshing Mango & Pineapple Cooler, and a sweet Strawberry & Lemon Mocktail.

A wonderful time filled with great company, laughter, and tasty treats. Here’s to making special memories together! 💛
