Something I see so often in clinic is how many women are just, pushing through. We can all be guilty of this!

Pushing through feeling exhausted, pushing through stress, pushing through feeling “not quite right.”

And I think sometimes we become so used to functioning in survival mode that we stop recognising when the body is asking us to slow down. And it can be really slow!!

Sometimes the signs are subtle: feeling anxious all the time, struggling to switch off, brain fog, poor sleep, hormone issues, digestive symptoms, feeling emotionally overwhelmed. Skin breakouts, twitching eyes and muscles, fatigue… the list goes on.

But I truly believe the body is always trying to tell you something. 🤍

This week on my first Clinic Conversations audio over on Substack, I touched on:

✨nervous system regulation
✨burnout
✨somatics
✨healing beyond food
✨and why you cannot out-supplement a stressed nervous system.

I was really nervous sharing something more personal and conversational like this but there is something important about it, just simple, everyday chat. The response has genuinely meant so much 🤍

Blood sugar has become one of the most overcomplicated conversations in wellness. 🤦🏽‍♀️

Somewhere between glucose monitors, eating blue cookies, fear around fruit (my pet hate) and people acting like carbs are the enemy, we forgot something important:

Your body actually needs glucose. 🤍

The goal isn’t perfection, it’s understanding.

Learning about blood sugar completely changed how I eat, not in a restrictive way, but in a way that helped me:

✨ feel fuller for longer
✨ stop crashing in the afternoon
✨ reduce cravings
✨ support my energy & hormones
✨ feel more balanced overall

And no, you do NOT need to fear bananas to support your health 🍌

Swipe to learn more about GI & glycemic load in a way that actually makes sense, without the wellness industry nonsense.

I’ve also put together a FREE Glycemic Index Quick Guide you can download via the link in my bio 👆🏻

When I first started using Bach flower remedies I couldn’t believe how responsive I was to them, so of course I decided to study them to learn more 📚

I’ve been revisiting the remedies recently, and Heather is one I keep coming back to 🌿

This is something I’ll be offering more of in clinic soon too creating personalised Bach flower remedies to support what’s going on beneath the surface.

It’s a really gentle addition, but so powerful 🙌🏻

Heather can be supportive if you feel like:

✨ your mind is constantly busy or full
✨you need to talk things out all the time
✨you find yourself going over the same things again and again
✨you look for reassurance outside of yourself
✨you struggle to sit quietly with your own thoughts
✨you sometimes feel drained

It’s not a bad thing, it usually just means there’s a lot going on internally that feels hard to hold on your own.

Heather doesn’t shut that down. It gently helps you feel more steady within yourself so you don’t need to constantly seek it outside. 🙌🏻

So more grounded, more settled, more able to just be with yourself.

I love these remedies because they’re subtle, they don’t force anything, they just support what’s already there.

They are also suitable for children and can help with things like:

🤍 overwhelm
🤍 clinginess or needing reassurance
🤍 trouble settling or sleeping
🤍 anxiety/nervousness

Recent spring cleaning dump 👉🏼🤍

Lots of reading, walking, studying, juicing, cooking, running, dancing, good conversation and hometime 🙌🏻

There’s a piece of health we don’t talk about enough, and it’s not just about what you’re eating. It’s the state your body is living in. Something that’s showing up in my clinics more and more!

Because what I’ve learnt is that a dysregulated body can’t fully heal. Ffs! 🤦🏽‍♀️

You can be doing all the “right” things, eating well, moving your body, trying to look after yourself, but if your nervous system is constantly switched on, it’s so hard for your body to really absorb all that good stuff.

Living on edge, always rushing, feeling a bit wired or tense, it’s so easy for that to become normal without even realising.

But that’s still stress running through the body.
And over time, that starts to shape how you feel day to day. We all, get used to it. Push through. You tell yourself it’s just life.

But is that alright? 🤔

This is something I’ve only really started to understand more over the last year how much your internal environment matters.

Your digestion. Your hormones. Your energy.
It’s all connected.

It’s your environment, your pace. The way you’re living day to day.Even the things you’re tolerating that don’t quite feel right. It’s quietly shaping you.

Your body picks up on all of it. 😩

The reason I became so fascinated by this is because my body is like a sponge my environment and what I’m surrounded by affects me massively.

And if my body is never really at ease…that’s going to show up somewhere.

So I’m learning to listen to that a lot more and honestly, giving a lot less of a f**k these days, and it feels good! 🙌🏻✨💫🤍

This cycle is exhausting… and so many of us are stuck in it!!

It all starts with good intentions, wanting to feel better, more in control. Especially as the weather gets warmer ☀️

But restriction creates pressure. Pressure turns into cravings. Cravings into “falling off track” and then back into guilt and shame. 🤦🏽‍♀️

It’s not a lack of willpower. It’s a pattern and one that was never designed to be sustainable.

There’s strong evidence that dietary restriction and psychological stress are closely linked, which means that the more we try to control and restrict, the more we can dysregulate the nervous system and our relationship with food 👇🏻
(PMID: 33913377).

So if you’ve been stuck in this loops, and it didn’t work, that’s not failure.

But, maybe it’s time to stop listening to the voice that says this time will work, and start doing things differently. 🙌🏻

It’s not always easy to pause and ask yourself, how many times have I repeated the same cycle,
expecting it to feel different?

But you can 💫🙌🏻

Today's thoughts… When did everything become so all or nothing? 🤔

I see this all the time with the women I work with, not that they're doing things wrong but that everything has to be all or nothing.

I’ve definitely been there too, but lately I’ve been questioning it! It’s exhausting! 😩

I’ve been listening to some really interesting conversations around this, and it made me realise how much we’ve internalised this idea that we have to choose a side, be one or the other. So rigid!

I see it in my clinics with health all the time.
As soon as something is labelled, it can quietly become an identity.

“I can’t do that because of this.”
“This is just how I am.”

Somewhere along the way, we’ve lost the middle.
The space where you can make choices
without needing to define yourself by them.

How boxed in do we become when we think like this!! There's no real space to move, adjust or respond to what we actually need.

The way you've always done things might not fit anymore. Maybe you've outgrown certain habits., maybe what you need or want to try now looks different. Maybe things aren't as fixed as they feel?

Because what I’ve learnt is that we are not meant to stay the same, how boring would that be! 🤍✨

So here I am getting my Raw Milk from our local farm.

Here’s what I’ve been thinking lately about raw milk… 🥛💭

Personally, I don’t drink much cow’s milk or dairy and luckily, I’ve never had sensitivities to it. But even if I did, based on what I’ve researched, I feel like raw milk is different because it’s full of natural enzymes, beneficial bacteria, and fat-soluble vitamins that are often reduced through pasteurisation.

So, I guess It’s as close to nature as it gets: fresh, creamy, and straight from the cow without all the extra processing. This one is from gorgeous Jersey cows 🐄 and was milked within 24 hours, so it feels fresh!

Nutritionally, raw milk still has its natural enzymes (which help with digestion), beneficial bacteria, and fat-soluble vitamins like A, D, and K2. A lot of these can get reduced when milk is heated and processed.

But I get it, it’s not for everyone. Some people are sceptical, which I do find interesting because we put so much trust in supermarket milk… even though it’s been through so many steps and processes before it even reaches our fridge. 🤔

I didn’t have a glass bottle with me when I picked it up, so I used one of their plastic ones and decanted it straight into a sanitised glass jar when I got home. I’ll let you know what I think✨

I’m curious, have you ever tried raw milk?

What did you think?

So many clients tell me they feel lost in a cycle of bloating, headaches, skin flare up’s, mood swings, fatigue, or gut issues and often wonder: is it an allergy or an intolerance? 🤔

Here’s a quick breakdown:
⚡️ Food allergies = immune-driven and can be severe (sometimes even life-threatening).
🌿 Intolerances = usually down to digestive enzyme issues or chemicals in food (like histamine).

The symptoms might feel similar, but the difference is important. And when you know which you’re dealing with, it helps you get the right support and stop second-guessing every bite of food. 🙌🏻

This is exactly why I do the work I do, helping women test, track, and truly understand their bodies instead of guessing. Because who has time to do that! 😩

One of the simplest ways I support my hormones, gut and skin health is by choosing organic 🌱

Want to know why? Because organic produce is grown without pesticides and chemicals that can disrupt our hormones, it’s kinder on the gut, and often richer in antioxidants that your skin will love too ✨👌🏻

I also love that eating this way takes the stress out of food shopping. Each week my box arrives, packed with the best seasonal fruit and veg.

Eating seasonally isn’t just better for the planet, it’s also better for our bodies, giving us the nutrients we need in that moment of the year 🌸🍂

If you’ve been wanting to give it a go, you can use my code NICOLE50 to get 50% off your first 4 boxes.

I've been using for years and it’s such a lovely ritual and one of the easiest swaps I’ve made for my health. ✨🤍

Running clinics in the NHS, I see firsthand the very real struggles people are facing with their health. More than ever, the conversation seems to circle around quick fixes, like weight loss injections. 😩 And while they may have their place for some, they’re most definitely not the whole answer.

There is no magic injection or quick fix that will do the deeper work for us. The real, lasting transformation I’ve witnessed, both in my clients and in my own life, comes from shifting habits, supporting our metabolic health, and most importantly, changing the way we think about our health. 🙌🏻

I’ve been there myself. I’ve changed my own health outcomes, and it didn’t come from obsessing over calories or following the “perfect” diet. It came from taking a holistic approach. And it’s definitely not easy, but it’s possible!

Yes, nutrition matters, but so does everything else we absorb, what we read, who we listen to, who we surround ourselves with, the conversations we engage in, and even the energy we allow into our lives. All of it shapes us. All of it feeds us.

Health isn’t just on the plate in front of us, it’s in the way we live, the thoughts we carry, the boundaries we hold, and the peace we protect.

That’s why I’m so passionate about this work. 🤍

Because when someone begins to see health differently, not as punishment or perfection, but as a journey of balance and empowerment, that’s when real transformation happens. ✨

And that’s what makes this work so rewarding ✨🤍
