What a wonderful afternoon at Bentley House as we came together for our Dementia Awareness Afternoon and Fundraiser 💜

Residents enjoyed delicious food, warm company, and an incredibly insightful talk from our Dementia Care Manager, Andrea, who shared her knowledge and passion for dementia care. Residents and guests were truly captivated by her presentation, asking thoughtful questions and engaging in meaningful discussions throughout.

The afternoon ended on a high note with a fantastic silent disco, bringing smiles, laughter, and plenty of dancing to everyone involved!

A huge thank you to everyone who attended and supported such an important cause. Together, we continue to raise awareness, understanding, and compassion for those living with dementia. ✨

It’s been one week since our wonderful staff and residents planted the first flowers, herbs, and vegetables in our care home garden — and we’re already starting to see the garden come to life! 🌼🥕🌿

Over the past week, residents have enjoyed checking on the plants, watering them, and watching their progress each day. The garden has already become a lovely space for fresh air, conversation, and shared smiles.

At Bentley House, we believe meaningful moments should be accessible to everyone — and Friday’s VE Day celebrations were no exception. ✨

While one of our lovely residents was unable to join the party in person due to mobility challenges, we were delighted to ensure she could still experience all the joy, music, and celebration from the comfort of her room through the use of technology. 📺🎶

This is what person-centred care means to us — taking the time to understand what matters to each individual and finding thoughtful ways to ensure every resident feels connected, valued, and included, no matter the challenges they may face.

Moments like these can have such a positive impact on wellbeing, helping to reduce feelings of isolation, encourage emotional connection, stimulate memory through reminiscence, and bring comfort, happiness, and companionship.

Behind every incredible celebration is an amazing team — and our VE Day party truly would not have been the same without our wonderful care staff, hospitality team, and supportive families. ✨

From beautifully decorating the home and our amazing Kitchen team preparing the delicious afternoon tea, to singing, dancing, sharing stories, and making every resident feel included and special, every single person helped create a day filled with happiness, love, and unforgettable memories.

Our care teams went above and beyond to ensure residents could fully enjoy every moment, while our hospitality staff outdid themselves with a stunning spread that everyone absolutely loved. Seeing families join in the celebrations, laugh together, and make precious memories alongside their loved ones made the day even more meaningful. ❤️

The warmth, teamwork, and dedication shown throughout the day perfectly reflect the heart of our home — a place where residents are surrounded not only by exceptional care, but by genuine friendship, compassion, and community.

🇬🇧✨ The VE Day Celebration We Can’t Stop Talking About✨🇬🇧

Bentley House was bursting with celebration on Friday as residents, families, and staff came together for the most amazing VE Day party and afternoon tea! ❤️☕️

From the moment the music started, the atmosphere was full of joy, laughter, singing, dancing, and unforgettable memories. The home looked incredible dressed in red, white, and blue, while residents enjoyed a spectacular afternoon tea filled with delicious cakes, fresh sandwiches, strawberries and cream, and endless cups of tea and of course we all raised a glass of Prosecco in honour of all the service men and women we honoured.

Classic wartime songs provided by wonderful Jessica had everyone singing along, sharing stories, waving flags, and celebrating together in true VE Day spirit. It was a beautiful reminder that life in our home is about so much more than care — it’s about friendship, happiness, community, and creating magical moments every single day.

Safe to say… this was the best VE Day celebration in town! 🇬🇧🎶🥂

🇬🇧✨ A Truly Special VE Day Reminiscence ✨🇬🇧

On Thursday , we were delighted to welcome the wonderful D-Day Dollies to our home for a heartwarming afternoon of music, memories, and celebration in honour of VE Day. 🎶❤️

Residents enjoyed singing along to beloved wartime classics, sharing personal stories, and reminiscing about moments from years gone by. Music has such a powerful way of unlocking treasured memories, encouraging conversation, and bringing people together.

Seeing everyone singing proudly, and connecting through shared experiences was truly wonderful

A huge thank you to the Dollies for bringing such warmth, energy, and nostalgia to our afternoon🇬🇧🌹

Our gardens are beginning to burst into life as we proudly took part in this year’s Battle of the Blooms 🌸🌿

This company-wide celebration showcases the incredible work, creativity, and care that has gone into transforming our outdoor spaces into beautiful places for residents to enjoy. Every detail has been designed to support wellbeing, relaxation, and meaningful moments outdoors.

This year, we are especially excited to introduce our sensory herb garden — filled with fragrant herbs and textures designed to stimulate the senses. We are also looking forward to incorporating some of our home-grown produce and fresh herbs into seasonal menus, bringing a true garden-to-table experience to the home 🍃🍅

As we move closer to summer, the gardens will continue to flourish with even more colour and beauty — creating the perfect setting for residents to socialise, unwind, and enjoy nature in full bloom ☀️🌷
