The ‘must do course’ for mums with baby’s 0-12 months of age. 6WeekSocial postnatal course offers new mums friendship and community PLUS a wealth of knowledge and advice provided by experienced local experts delivered over 6 weekly sessions. Having a baby is something to celebrate, but it’s also tough especially during these times. Whether this is your first baby or your fourth, you’ll be adjustin

g to new routines, changes to your body and shifts in your relationships. And we’re pretty sure you’ll be knackered, too.

6WeekSocial gives you the skills and support to enjoy your time with your baby, confident in the knowledge that you’re doing brilliantly (whether you’ve brushed your hair and changed out of your PJs or not). For over 12 years, we’ve been helping mums to meet and navigate these changes together. Other mums can be a lifeline in those early months and we love watching friendships grow! What we offer is more than just a social though. Each 6 Week session is hosted by an qualified, experienced women’s health or postnatal expert offering advice and support on matters such as pelvic health, baby’s sleep, childhood illnesses, nutrition, emotional well-being and more! ‘I did the baby course and absolutely loved it. It’s really great to get out and meet all the other mums and get all this great advice. As a new mum, everything is overwhelming and you don’t really know what’s whats. The plus course was great for us, to continue the journey. Continue with the group of mums, growing the network and we have loved it”.

This is Mummy Beth, who joined our postnatal course in Hitchin with her first baby. Beth has just finished our baby & plus course. It’s been amazing getting to know you and watching you grow and flourish over the last 11 weeks. The group of mums from the baby course, have formed such a tight knit bond, meeting for coffees, brunches, pub quizzes. It’s been so lovely to watch them support and cheerlead for each other. I know this group with definitely be friends for a long time.

‘It’s been brilliant to meet new mums,I only moved to Harpenden 3 months ago so I really wanted to meet new mums with similar age babies locally. I really wanted to do something for ME as well not just for baby.

I think it’s great the group was a mixture of 1st,2nd and even a 3rd time mummy, we all had different experience but also going through it together and we can help and support each other.’

This is Mummy Jess a 2nd time mummy new to the area. Jess joined our postnatal Baby course in Harpenden.

Osteopathy for Babies – How It Can Help 👶

However your baby was delivered – birth can be a physically demanding experience for little bodies. That’s where osteopathy can come in.

Last week, we were lucky enough to have Cemi, a local osteopath, come and chat to the mums at our course. She shared such fascinating insights into how gentle osteopathic treatment can support babies in their early days and weeks.

👶 What can osteopathy help with?
Cemi explained that osteopathy can support babies experiencing:

✨ Reflux or colic – gentle techniques can help release tension in the diaphragm and digestive system
✨ Head turning preferences – some babies strongly favour one side, which can be linked to tightness in the neck or body
✨ Feeding difficulties – particularly if baby is struggling to latch or prefers feeding on one side
✨ Sleep challenges – calming the nervous system and releasing body tension can sometimes improve rest and relaxation

Osteopathy for babies is incredibly gentle, using light touch to encourage the body to release tension and restore balance. Many mums in the group said they’d never even considered osteopathy before – but left the session feeling really curious and reassured.
