Comprising a grand late Victorian main house and its neighbouring, more contemporary building, the home offers respite, palliative and nursing care in a sophisticated yet welcoming space.

A Lovely Home

At brighterkind, the goal is for residents to love every day and that was the main goal when it came to refurbishing Houndswood House in 2018.

brighterkind wanted create somewhere really special for those who live in the home and for families and friends who come to visit. The design teams have created something which combines sophistication and comfort throughout the home.

The reception area, lounges, dining rooms and bedrooms have been refreshed with a botanical theme – charming yet stylish and a stunning setting to while away the days.

Relax in the Lounge or Library

Whether residents want to get stuck into a good book or have a natter with friends, Houndswood House offers elegant spaces with impressive views over its gardens. The communal lounge for a predinner drink, a quiet lounge to relax in and conservatory to watch the world go by, there’s somewhere to suit every mood.

Following the home’s theme, the Sir Edward Salisbury Lounge is named after the famous local botanist and features wallpaper from the William Morris archive collection. Dressed with traditional plaid fabrics, the interiors create a warm, welcoming space that is perfect for reading, board games or quiet contemplation.

Beautiful Bedrooms

Each bedroom offers furniture and soft furnishings to help residents feel at home, with luxury fabrics and papers sourced from Sanderson to create a beautiful and warm look.
