Specsavers Hessle

Specsavers Hessle Optometrists, Dispensing Opticians and Audiologists serving Hessle, west Hull villages and all custo

Specsavers Hessle was established in 2006 as a local business owned and staffed by local people which operates within the larger Specsavers family of opticians and audiologists. All of our optometrists, contact lens opticians, dispensing opticians and audiologists are qualified and registered professionals who, together with our team of dedicated support staff, aim to provide quality services with

in our local community and beyond together with offering excellent value for money on all of our products, which include spectacles, contact lenses, hearing aids and associated goods and services. It is generally recommended that adults have a regular eye examination every two years as part of their healthcare. In some circumstances that interval may be shorter if, for example, there is health reason for a shorter interval, such as diabetes or a family history of glaucoma. Some people may qualify for an NHS eye examination, such as the over 60s and some with, or with a family history of, certain medical conditions, and some may require a private eye examination with our optometrists. Either way, an eye examination plays a huge part in making sure that you and your eyes stay healthy. Your eyes can be a valuable window to assist in detecting the presence of other asymptomatic medical conditions even where there may be no apparent concern about vision itself. Retinal fundus photography (taking pictures of the back of your eyes), tonometry (measuring the internal pressure of your eyes) and visual field assessments, all using specialist bespoke equipment, will also carried out as part of your examination if the optometrist assesses this to be advisable and, better still, at no additional cost. If you need glasses, many of our patients don't, we have some great deals in store to include complete glasses from £19, plus many other seasonal offers on branded and designer ranges. With a choice of approximately 1200 frames on display, and great names such as Hackett and Boss Orange, to name but two, there is a vast array of frames to choose from and we offer all types of spectacle lenses to include single vision, bifocal, varifocal, high index thinner lenses, anti reflection coatings, tints, etc. Also, If you want to try contact lenses then we can also offer a FREE trial to see whether or not you would be suited to them. Children are also well catered for with ranges such as Frozen, Star Wars, Disney Princesses, etc. to choose from and, subject to NHS entitlement, two FREE pairs where spectacles are required. All of our children's glasses are made with with hardcoated lenses and with UV protection. All of our spectacles are also now made on-site in our own laboratory using the latest computerised blocking and edging equipment by our trained staff, so we can also be confident about the quality of our manufacturing process. Call in for details on current offers or to have a browse at the great range of frames on offer, or visit our website for more details. Appointments for eye examinations, contact lens fittings and hearing tests can usually be booked within a reasonable time but some clinics, such as weekends and our late night on Thursdays, can get booked up well in advance, so booking early for your first choice of time and date is advisable. To make an appointment simply call in, telephone or request one via our website.

‘Love Hessle’ was launched today, a new community initiative from Hessle Town Council with representation and entertainment from every part of the community to include local business, children’s groups, dance troupes, choirs, theatre, sports, faith, local history and so much more for a great day.

The ‘Love Hessle Shop Local’ initiative was a big part of that celebration with a limited edition ‘Love Hessle’ tote bag also being launched for those shopping locally and collecting ‘stamps’ from participating local businesses.

As a locally ‘Owned & Run’ business, Specsavers Hessle is happy to support this initiative with many hundreds of spectacles cleaned today as part of their launch event presence. Congratulation to all of those involved in the event, whatever their part. 👏🏻

East Riding of Yorkshire Council are reviewing whether to bring in charges in Hessle’s Council-owned car-parks by April. Car-parking charges will penalise motorists, deter shoppers and affect traders and local businesses. Shopworkers will park in nearby streets adding to the existing parking problems.

I have written to the CEO of East Riding of Yorkshire Council to express my opposition to this. Please sign the petition if you also oppose it.
