Chi Kung (Qigong) and Ba Duan Jin
An Ancient Path to Health and Vitality
Chi Kung (also commonly written as Qigong, pronounced “chee-gong”) is one of the oldest branches of Traditional Chinese Medicine, with roots stretching back over 4,000–5,000 years in Chinese culture. The term “Chi Kung” literally means “cultivation of vital energy” — where Chi/Qi refers to the life force or bio-energy flowing through all living things, and Kung/Gong means skill cultivated through dedicated practice.
This holistic practice combines gentle movements, coordinated breathing, meditation, and mental focus to harmonize body, mind, and spirit.
These sessions will be suitable for all.
Chi Kung developed from ancient Daoist, Confucian, and Buddhist traditions, as well as early medical and martial arts systems. It includes hundreds of different styles — some dynamic and flowing, others static and meditative — and serves multiple purposes: preventing illness, promoting longevity, healing the body, reducing stress, improving mental clarity, and even enhancing martial abilities.
Modern research supports many traditional claims, showing benefits such as reduced stress hormones, improved immune function, better sleep, lower blood pressure, enhanced flexibility, and improved mood & emotional balance.
Ba Duan Jin (八段錦), known in English as the Eight Pieces of Brocade or Eight Section Brocade, is one of the most popular and accessible forms of medical/health Chi Kung. This elegant sequence consists of just eight simple, graceful movements designed to be practiced by people of almost any age and fitness level.
The name “Ba Duan Jin” poetically compares the effects of regular practice to wearing luxurious silk brocade — the movements make the body feel smooth, supple, strong, and flowing like fine silk, while also “weaving” health benefits throughout the entire system.

Each of the eight movements targets specific meridians (energy channels), organs, and areas of the body, working together to:
• Stretch muscles, tendons & joints
• Strengthen the spine, core & limbs
• Improve balance & coordination
• Enhance lung capacity & circulation
• Regulate the nervous system
• Boost overall energy (Qi) flow
Modern scientific studies have shown Ba Duan Jin to be particularly effective for improving quality of life, sleep quality, balance, handgrip strength, flexibility, blood pressure, resting heart rate, and reducing symptoms in various chronic conditions.
In essence — Chi Kung is the broad ancient art of energy cultivation, while Ba Duan Jin is one of its most beloved and time-tested “gems” — a complete, easy-to-learn routine that delivers profound health benefits with graceful, flowing movements.
Many people start their Chi Kung journey with Ba Duan Jin precisely because it’s simple yet remarkably powerful — a beautiful “brocade” that can be practiced daily for a lifetime of better health, calm mind, and abundant vitality. 🌿🥋

This is exactly why you need authentic! wtf 😬 😂

Yoga poses often seem unattainable at first, but with consistent practice, anything is possible. If you aim to achieve a complex pose like an advanced backbend or arm balance, remember that the journey is just as important as the destination. Practicing foundational poses and building strength and flexibility gradually will take you closer to your goal.

For beginners, start with modified versions of challenging poses to build your base strength. Over time, as your muscles grow stronger and your balance improves, you will be able to perform more advanced variations. Don’t rush the process; consistency and patience are key in yoga.

By practicing regularly and paying attention to alignment and form, you’ll be able to achieve your yoga goals. Every step, even the small ones, will help you grow in your practice. Keep moving forward and trust the process. 🌿🌸

Seeking Balance in Thailand…Hail to the Jewel in the Lotus 🪷

In the land of smiles, I have come to understand balance not as a tidy equilibrium, but as a sacred dance between duality—yin and yang ☯️ woven into the very fabric of existence 💫

In Bangkok’s relentless pulse…horns blaring, incense rising from golden shrines amid skyscrapers 🏙️ it mirrors the chaos we all carry within. Yet just hours north, in the misty mountains of Chiang Rai, ancient temples whisper of impermanence, inviting us to sit in stillness and watch thoughts dissolve like morning fog.

On the island of Phuket, we both floated in the Andaman Sea 🫶🏼at dawn, salt on our skin, breath syncing with the gentle rise and fall of waves 🌊
And in that suspended moment, we both felt the truth….we are not separate from the storm or the silence. We are both. 🧘🏻‍♂️🧘

Thailand has been my teacher in non-resistance. To push away the noise is to reject half of life; to cling only to peace is to live in illusion. True balance arises when we bow to both—the fire 🔥 and the lotus 🪷 blooming from it.

May we all learn to hold the chaos with tenderness and meet the calm with reverence. For in embracing the full spectrum, we touch something eternal.

Om mani padme hum. 🇹🇭🪷

🔥✨2026: THE YEAR OF THE FIRE HORSE✨🔥

The Year of the Fire Horse, beginning February 17, 2026, arrives with an energy that ignites hearts and breaks patterns that have grown too comfortable to remain intact. In the Chinese zodiac, time moves through a cycle of 12 animal signs and five elemental forces—Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal, and Water—creating a 60-year rhythm before the same elemental combination returns.

This means the Fire Horse appears only once every six decades, making its arrival rare, potent, and unmistakable.

The Horse embodies freedom, courage, momentum, and movement. When fused with the element of Fire, this archetype becomes electrified—amplifying drive, intensity, and fearless expression. This is not a subtle influence. It is a year that pulses with motion, transformation, and a powerful urge to move forward.

🔥 The Fire Horse Moves

2026 carries a current that cannot be ignored.
This is not a year that whispers. It moves.

Across ancient traditions, Horse energy signifies progress and forward motion. Fire adds ignition—turning movement into momentum. Together, the Fire Horse does not create reckless chaos, but decisive acceleration. It pushes life out of stagnation and into motion, urging truth where hesitation once lingered.

This energy does not ask for permission.

2026 does not favor waiting, circling, or endless preparation.
It favors clarity followed by action.

Many will feel a growing restlessness—not born of anxiety, but of readiness. A sense that something long restrained is now meant to move. This is not about burning everything down.
It is about breaking inertia.

You may notice:
• Projects accelerating after long pauses
• Old patterns dissolving without conflict
• A rising intolerance for half-truths, half-effort, or half-alignment

The Fire Horse does not linger in indecision.
It reveals where momentum flows—and where it no longer can.

❤️‍🔥 Initiation Energy

Numerologically, 2026 carries the frequency of initiation and new origin. This sharpens the Fire Horse current into something focused and intentional. Not scattered motion—but directed beginnings. New paths are not only available this year; they are activated.

For those on the ascension path, comfort zones are challenged gently but firmly. What is misaligned begins to feel heavier. What is aligned feels lighter, clearer, and faster. This contrast is guidance—not punishment—offered through sensation rather than struggle.

🔥 Inner Alignment

Emotionally, 2026 asks for courage—not the loud kind, but the quiet courage to:
• Choose truth over familiarity
• Movement over delay
• Authentic expression over self-containment

Spiritually, this year supports embodied sovereignty.
Less seeking. More knowing.
Less waiting for signs. More responding to inner clarity.

The Fire Horse responds to presence, not force.

Collectively, expect shifts that feel sudden yet long overdue. Systems and narratives sustained by inertia lose traction. Momentum gathers around those willing to move forward with integrity rather than resistance.

✨ The Invitation

The invitation of 2026 is simple—but not easy:

Do not run blindly.
Do not stand still.
Move with awareness.

This year rewards those who can hold fire without being consumed by it—who can move with balance, direction, and heart-centered clarity.

The Fire Horse does not demand perfection.
It demands honesty.

As this frequency unfolds, ask yourself:
• Where am I truly ready to move forward?
• What no longer deserves my energy?
• What would happen if I trusted momentum instead of fearing it?

2026 is not a year to hide.
It is a year to move consciously into the next chapter.

Stand ready.
Stay grounded.
Let what is aligned gain speed.

Coach Ede is fully embracing the Muay Thai boxing training out here. Ready to bring back some new training methods for 2026!! With over 21 years of training fighters.

Unlock the power of the "Art of Eight Limbs"! 🥊

Muay Thai isn't just a workout—it's a transformation. Torch 600-1000 calories per session with high-intensity strikes using fists, elbows, knees, and shins, building insane cardio, strength, toned muscles, and killer flexibility.

But it goes deeper: Sharpen your mental toughness, melt away stress through endorphin rushes, boost unbreakable confidence, and master real self-defense skills that empower you every day.

Step into the ring, push your limits, and become the strongest version of yourself. Who's ready to train? 💥

🇹🇭Muay Thai and Buddhism are not separate paths that cross by chance. They are born from the same place: the need to order the human being when pressure appears. One works the body to the limit. The other teaches the mind not to run away when that limit is reached. That's why they don't walk in parallel. They hold themselves from the source.
In combat there is no room for character. The ring does not feed the ego or unload the anger. Reveal. Expose fear, measure calm, and show who you are when controlling the impulse is harder than letting go. That’s where real learning begins: when form matters more than force.
Pain is not the enemy. The body feels it, but it's the mind that decides what to do with it. Buddhism teaches us to observe without escaping. Muay Thai forces you to stand firm when escaping is no longer an option. Both train the same ability: to hold on without breaking the form.
That's why respect doesn't adorn this art. Order it. Respect to the master, the rival and the moment. Respect the process when there is no applause. Muay Thai is not understood without a soul. And his soul is Buddhist, because it is not born of the desire to impose, but of self-control, acceptance of suffering, and respect along the way.

The antidote to modern life……
The workshop and the maintenance ….

Rounded shoulders are an excessive thoracic kyphosis referring to an uneven forward rounding or curvature of the middle and upper back. Rounded shoulders shift out of proper alignment with the spine, causing posture-related problems like shoulder/neck/back discomfort, tightness, stiffness, and pain. Overall unhealthy posture contributes to the following:

The head constantly being in a forward or backward position can create
🤯Headaches
Body aches and pains
Muscle fatigue
Chronic back soreness
Bent knees when standing or walking
Body movement dysfunction
Joint problems
Potbelly
Rounded shoulders
Body responses to rounded shoulders include:

🩻Chronic musculoskeletal aches and pains
Breathing problems
Limited body function
Impaired mobility performance
Increased mental and musculoskeletal stress
Causes

Rounded shoulders are typically caused by unhealthy posture, but can also be caused by muscle imbalances from, for example, overfocusing on building chest strength but neglecting the core and upper back. Other causes include:

Standing and sitting for long periods
Stress
Lack of physical activity
Environmental factors
Too much exercise, sports, and physical activities
Musculoskeletal Imbalance

Postural imbalances anywhere in the body can cause rounded shoulders.

For example, when an individual tilts their head forward to look at their phone, the upper back has to round forward to hold the head. Constantly tilting can begin to generate an unhealthy muscle memory causing the neck and shoulder muscles to remain in a semi-flexed position that starts to become the norm.
Another example is when the arms are held out and in front for prolonged periods, like driving, typing, and cooking, the chest muscles get shortened. As time goes on, this causes the shoulder blades to move forward on the ribcage, making the upper back and shoulder area hunch awkwardly and unhealthily.
Stress

😱When the brain perceives a threat, the body physically prepares to take action through the fight or flight response. Common reactions include:

Jaw tensing
Tightening the abdominal muscles
Holding one’s breath
Rounding the shoulders
Stressors can include:

Job worries
Money issues
Relationship problems
Family responsibilities
All can cause changes in the body that result in rounded shoulders.
Environmental Factors

Respiratory conditions like asthma, COPD, and allergies can affect the body’s breathing and the ability of the diaphragm to contract and relax correctly.
Ribcage restrictions caused by chronic breathing problems can result in the thoracic/middle back tightening up, causing excessive shoulder rounding.
Exercise and Physical Activities

Exercise and physical activities can contribute to rounded shoulders because of the long periods of spinal flexion. These can include:
Bike riding, martial arts, and swimming.
Knitting requires the arms to be out in front.
Gardening requires kneeling and being hunched over.

Our series of anatomical movement postures works to correct the damage caused in daily life so you get to move better for longer. 🙏
