🎄 Mental Elf 2025 – Supporting Lancashire Mind 🎄

This Christmas season, Gary Derbyshire (Promedica24) is taking part in Mental Elf 2025, a fun and festive event organised by Lancashire Mind – and he’d love your support!

Gary will be elfing his way through the route (possibly dressed as a slightly ridiculous elf!) to raise money for a cause that means so much: mental health.

Mental health affects all of us. Whether it’s our own struggles or those faced by people we care about, we all know how important it is to get the right support – and how hard it can be to find it.

That’s where Lancashire Mind comes in. They work across the county, supporting adults and young people through services, housing support, school programmes, su***de prevention work, community projects, and so much more. It costs over £2.2 million a year to run these services, and every penny raised stays right here in Lancashire to help local people.

🧠 Young Onset Dementia Awareness Day – Creating Change Together 🧠

We’re proud to share that Gary Derbyshire, our Regional Partner, recently represented Promedica24 at the U&ME – Young Onset Dementia Conference in Leeds, organised by Dementia Forward. Gary joined a panel of experts to discuss how live-in care can empower individuals diagnosed with dementia under the age of 65 to live independently in their own homes.

The event brought together over 150 delegates – from health professionals to people with lived experience – all united under the theme “Creating Change – Shaping the Future of Young Onset Dementia.”

Great to catch up with Jackie Campion at Campion Solicitors recently talking about Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPA). As a home care provider we discuss frequently the importance of the Health and Welfare LPA which is one you hope you'll never need but is nonetheless important and can avoid a lot of complications and heartache. Also important if you have paper copies of your LPA is to make sure they are certified by a solicitor. The Registered copy that you receive from the OPG is only usable if it has been certified which sometimes catches people out.

At Promedica24 Wirral we are helping people every day. In fact helping people is our very essence by providing care and support in their own homes when they need it most. Earlier this summer I was privileged to be able to raise over £1000 in support of the British Heart Foundation in memory of a close personal friend by completing a 47 mile ultra around Lake Windermere. Thank you Promedica24 Wirral for your generous donation to this worthy cause and to Fellows Podiatry in Heswall for getting my feet in good shape in order to be able to complete this event. The pre-cut kinesiology tape patches you recommended were a god send!
