🍌 My take on DETOX & QUICK FIX DIETS 🥦

I don't recommend any detox diets (utter nonsense! - unless you have a serious medical condition)or fad/miracle/yo-yo diets, instead I will today highlight the Mediterranean diet as one of the better diets to follow if you want to eat healthily and shed some weight steadily. I've recommended the Nordic Diet in the past as well.

Eating is about more than just controlling your weight, and it should really be enjoyable and fun. I'd say, next time you decide to try the next ‘new diet’ please have another think! Ditch the diet and instead take pleasure in a variety of healthy foods and try to stress less about which magic plan you are following. If you feel stuck, don't really know how to choose healthier options, or would like a meal plan, I am more than happy to help you eat healthily. I love creating balanced meals totally adapted to your personal needs.

🍒THE IMPORTANCE OF EATING AT REGULAR TIMES 🍓

Prevent overeating by eating at regular intervals throughout the day. Beat the hunger pains. Don't run on empty - fuel up and keep yourself energised. It's less likely you'll overeat later on in the day.

Regular meals means that you're less likely to consume sugary drinks and fast foods. By creating a habit of eating at regular times, you'll get into a routine, and a healthier lifestyle. Try schedule in breakfast, lunch and dinner and snacks in between.

I get asked how much protein one should eat. It all depends on your weight and your physical activity level and also what type of exercise you do. For example if you're leading a sedentary life weighing 60kg, then you'd need 48g of protein per day. If you're an adult building muscle, multiply your weight by 1.5-1.7g. Weekend food for me!

I often get asked what I eat to stay healthy, and people are shocked when they realise that I actually eat chocolate, ice cream, and takeaways.

I eat a variety of foods from all the food groups. I don't exclude anything in my diet. I eat plenty of veg and fruit, berries, pulses, beans, nuts and seeds. I eat meat, fish, pasta, potatoes and dairy and I eat 'crap' 🍪🍦🍫🧋too. (I love a Big Mac).

Staying in shape and being healthy is important to me, but I don't want to live a restricted life. I don't do diets. I can help you change your eating habits gradually.

The difference is that I eat a balanced diet tailored to my needs with occasional treats.
