Wow, what an Easter we had! 🐣🌷
Our residents spent the day decorating, enjoying plenty of chocolate 🍫, and sharing a beautiful meal together. We also held an Easter egg hunt throughout the home, which brought lots of smiles and laughter.
Thank you to everyone who participated — together we raised over £100! 🎉 The egg-citing hamper was won by one of our very own residents, who was absolutely delighted to say the least. 🧺🥚

🐣🌷 Easter Fun at the Home! 🌷🐣
This Easter we’ve been crafting like crazy and having lots of fun together! Our residents have enjoyed a range of lovely seasonal activities, including:
🥚 Decorating eggs with colouring and embroidery
🧺 Making Easter nests
🧁 Baking delicious treats
🐰 A special visit from the home’s very own Easter Bunny
It’s been a wonderful time full of creativity, laughter, and plenty of socialising. 💛

🐰🍫 Don’t forget to come and join us this Saturday at 1:30pm for our Easter Egg Hunt! 🍫🐰
There’s also a chance to win a massive chocolate egg hamper jam packed with goodies, with raffle strips available at just £1 each!

Following pictures for our 🍎 Nutrition and Hydration Week 🍎💧
Residents enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities to promote healthy eating and hydration, including smoothie design, nutrition quizzes, favourite food discussions, and our fruit tea and milkshake parties.
Morning sessions focused on learning about hydration, fortified foods, and making healthy choices. Smoothies, milkshakes, and creative snacks were offered from the tea trolley, encouraging residents to try new options in a fun and supportive environment.
We even had a demonstration of a Rose of Jericho plant, showing how it reanimates when placed in water, helping to visually highlight the importance of keeping hydrated.
A great week of learning, engagement, and enjoyment for everyone involved.

🦷✨ Oral Health Awareness Day ✨🦷

Today we will be talking all about the importance of keeping our teeth clean and healthy! From regular brushing to showing off our biggest, brightest smiles 😁 — good oral hygiene helps us feel confident and happy every day.

This also links perfectly with our Nutrition & Hydration Week, as what we eat and drink plays a huge role in keeping our teeth strong and healthy. 🥦💧

Let’s keep up those great habits:
✔️ Brush twice a day
✔️ Drink plenty of water
✔️ Choose tooth-friendly foods

It’s Nutrition & Hydration Week here at Carntyne Care Home! 💧🍎

We’re highlighting the importance of eating well and staying hydrated to support overall health, wellbeing, and happiness.

Here’s what we’ve been getting up to this week:

💬 16th – Group discussions around the signs of malnutrition and dehydration, helping raise awareness and understanding
🥛 17th – Exploring fortified foods and drinks, when enrichment is needed, and which foods can help boost nutrition
💧 18th–20th – Trying a variety of different fluids to encourage hydration in fun and engaging ways
🧁 21st – A lovely milkshake tea party followed by a quiz on what we’ve learned and a dehydration demonstration
🍓 22nd – Tea party and discussion group sharing favourite foods, alongside a creative “design your own smoothie” activity

Good nutrition and hydration play such an important role in maintaining energy, supporting immunity, and enhancing quality of life — and we’re making it enjoyable every step of the way!

Our hamper is already starting to fill up with lots of delicious eggs… but we’d love your help to make it even bigger and better! 💛
