Such a shame this production didn't happen when it should have due to Covid in 2020, but with unfinished business, HAODS will be back in March 2026 with 9 to 5: The Musical. Im sure it will be amazing and im so very happy and proud to give back what i can to our little community of Heywood and be the official main sponsor for a hard working, determined, and talented bunch of people. Sometimes, theatre breaks your heart. 💔
In 2020, on the night before opening, we stood in the wings — set built, costumes hung, lines learned, dreams ready — when Covid stopped everything.
Our production of 9 to 5: The Musical never saw the stage.

The cast and crew were devastated. Months of work, gone in an instant. The curtain never rose. The seats stayed empty. And the show became a memory of what could have been.

More recently, we faced another tough moment — having to cancel our 2026 production of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before rehearsals began. A different kind of heartbreak, but one that reminded us just how much this art form means to all of us.

But from disappointment comes determination.
We knew we had to do something.
Something big.
Something right.
Something that honours our members, our audiences, and the incredible history of our society.

And so we asked ourselves:
What better time than now… for the show that never was… to finally BE?

Peacefully in Rochdale Infirmary on 9th July 2025, with loving family by his side, Vincent aged 77 years.

A much loved and devoted husband, dad, grandad, brother, uncle and good friend to many.

A Requiem mass will be held at St Clares R C Church, Blackley, on Tuesday 29th July 2025 at 10am followed by interment at Blackley Cemetery 11.30am.

Flowers for a lovely family I had the privilege of looking after yesterday. A beautiful casket spray, an owl designed, created and drawn by the great grandchildren incorporating sunflowers as requested, and a flock of sheep for an 'in house' joke between the grandchildren and their dearly missed grandma.

Peacefully at home on 4th July 2025, where she wanted to be with family by side, Valerie (Val) aged 66 years.

Beloved wife of Ian, loving and devoted mum of Gaz and Chris, much loved and respected mother in law of Sophie and Leanda, adored nana of Dylan, Summer, Elsie and the late Thomas, and a good friend to many.

Funeral service to take place at Heywood Cemetery Chapel on Friday 1st August 2025 at 10.30am, followed by interment at Heywood Cemetery 11am.

National Bereaved Parents Day will take place on Thursday 3rd July to raise awareness for all parents who have lost a baby or child of any age, and from any circumstance.

Please join us to help spread the message, keep that conversation going, raise awareness and show the bereaved parent community that they are NOT alone.
