Corcoran Close Social Club had a wonderful karaoke evening on Friday 24th April and raised £98. A wonderful time had by all, with lots of fantastic prizes won and the funniest and most brilliant rendition of La Bamba ever by one of the residents. A big thank you to all the residents and friends who made it a great night.

A huge thank you to CLC employees Sean, Frank, and Reece for generously giving up their own time to help improve our communal spaces 👏

Thanks to their hard work and generous donations from CLC, we’ve had tons of topsoil provided, our communal wooden furniture beautifully painted, and Sean has built an amazing planter using the wood that was kindly donated to us last year. This is going to make such a difference and will hopefully help resolve the boggy area we’ve been struggling with on the large grassed area.

In a separate area, Sean also installed the pond liner that was purchased last year for the large planter built by Wincanton volunteers, and levelled the lawn and reseeded, which is another fantastic improvement.

It’s absolutely incredible what they have done for us all — completely free and in their own time. Sean was even back at the scheme yesterday continuing to fill the planters!

A big thank you as well to those residents who have been able to get involved and lend a hand — your help is truly appreciated. We completely understand that not everyone has the physical ability to join in, but your support and encouragement means just as much 💚

They’re planning to return to finish off a few more bits, but I just want to say how truly grateful we are for everyone’s kindness, generosity, and hard work. It really means so much to us all.

Our Social Club are having a Karaoke night, next Friday 24th April. If you can’t make it you can still support them, Denise will be selling raffle tickets all week.

Thanks to all our fundraising efforts and donations last year, we had hundreds of bulbs and seeds, these were very kindly started off up at one of our residents allotments and are now ready to plant out, we are looking for willing volunteers this Thursday and Friday to make a start in getting these in the beds, weather permitting! Even if you can only do a few, it will help. If you can spare any time to assist, please let Carolyn know.

Coffee morning today, the social club will have the bric-a -brac stall and football card available, fundraising for future events for the residents and friends of Corcoran Close, oh and we have cake to go with your cuppa today!🧁😍🍰

Thank you to all of Derek’s friends and neighbours who came to today's memorial. A total of £140 was donated to the social club in Derek’s memory, and this has been used to enhance the garden he loved so much. There is still more to be done, but it will be looking even more beautiful in the coming weeks.

Blossom and Camellias at Corcoran Close ❤️ The It's your Neighbourhood application for Heywood in Bloom has gone in, and we will be gearing up to get our scheme glowing. Any help small or large, physical help doing some planting or if you would prefer to donate to the social club, we will be continuing our fundraising to improve court life here for everyone.

The new gardeners TCB Grounds Maintenance Limited start on 8th April and we will also have CLC working on the communal garden improvements and building more planters for us to use around the scheme that week too, they will also be funding some more plants, can't wait for Michelle's Garden Centre to open 🥰.
