I have trained for three years as a person-centred counsellor and practiced co-counselling for many years since. I have worked extensively, one-to-one with both Autistic children and adults as both a play therapist and mentor. I have over ten years experience of working with SEN children in schools and am currently studying for an MA in English and Creative Writing. Person-centered counsellors bel
ieve that every human being has the potential to bring about positive change in their lives if supported in the right way to do so. I will meet you in our therapy sessions with the core conditions of person-centered therapy. These conditions are: a genuine and congruent attitude, an offering of unconditional positive regard (total acceptance) and empathic understanding. For many people, for a variety of reasons, these conditions of growth have been unavailable, particularly for people who have experience heightened feelings of sensitivity or difference while growing up. I believe every person has the wisdom inside themselves to find their own place of healing. We will explore together thoughts and feelings you would like to share with me, I will not direct or instruct but allow you to find your own way. These core conditions are the fertile ground that allows for growth into a place where you can begin to access you full potential. I am well aware that for many neurologically diverse people, the urge to move around is strong both internally and externally! With this in mind, my therapy sessions can include movement and walking, dancing or singing or art or poetry. I have no limit on age and am happy to work with both children and adults.
