It’s important to know what to do when accidents happen in the home.
Knowing what to do and dealing with it at home is easy to do for minor burns.

So nice to receive such positive feedback! 5 Stars too!

The Lazy W or half sitting position is used when someone is experiencing chest pain. It’s a comfortable position which helps the person.

Chest pain could mean a heart attack, with pain radiating from the chest to the arm, into the back or up into the neck and jaw.

The person may often look pale or grey often described as “ashen”

The tight crushing pain, the sweaty skin are all indicators of a possible heart attack, we need to act fast.

Call 999 for an ambulance immediately.

Today, 24 years ago 246 people woke up in preparation for their morning flights. 2,606 people got ready for work in the morning. 343 firefighters starting preparation for their morning shift. 60 police officers started their morning patrol. 8 paramedics began their morning shifts. None of them saw past 10:00am Sept 11, 2001.
It serves to remind us that in one single moment life may never be the same.
Never take one second of your life for granted.

Imagine this: It’s Monday afternoon you’re chatting to your colleague, all of a sudden they grab their chest in pain….

…their skin is grey, sweaty and they have a crushing pain to the chest, without warning they collapse to the floor unconscious.

People are standing around and starring, no one knows what’s happening or what to do….

There are 300,000 heart attacks in the UK each year.

150,000 of those sadly die

Often by knowing the signs of a heart attack and knowing what to do in a life threatening situation can help save a life.

We have a few spaces available on a first aid at work course in Buxton this September.

You’ll learn how to deal with the above along with other life threatening conditions.

First aid isn’t about ticking a box, it’s about saving a life.

Well that’s the summer holidays done and dusted!

Yesterday while children were enjoying their last day at home before Monday, the staff in a Derbyshire school were preparing for if the worst should happen.

They learnt how to carry out CPR and how to put an unconscious child into the recovery position, they also learnt to deal with choking, bleeding, anaphylaxis, asthma attacks along with a few other topics.

Knowing what to do in an emergency is vital particularly when it involves children.

It was a great day showing them the importance of first aid training.
I hope they all have a great start to the new academic year!
