👶🏽When your baby is born, they're hard-wired to want to sleep on or very near you. There isn't anything wrong with them, it's biology.
💚Often mums in my classes share they're co-sleeping with their baby and it's the first time they've ever told anyone because they feel like they shouldn't be doing it. And 9 times out of 10 other mums will say "we're doing that too!"
🥴It's really not helpful for you to be told that you should only put your baby to sleep on their own, when every time you do, they cry.
👶🏼We know that lots of mums end up sleeping with their baby in bed with them - even if they didn't plan to. So learning how to do it safely is SO important and can be a complete game-changer for so many parents.
✅ If you're bed-sharing, DO:
✳️Keep pillows & bedding away from your baby
✳️Lie your baby on their back
✳️Avoid slatted headboards
✳️Keep pets & other children out of the bed
✳️Make sure your baby can't be trapped, wedged or fall out of bed
✳️Look at safe bed-sharing information on the website
❌DON'T bed-share if:
🔻You or anyone in the bed has recently drunk alcohol or taken medication that makes you sleepy or taken any drugs
🔻You or anyone in the bed smokes or your baby was exposed to smoke in pregnancy
🔻Your baby was born before 37 weeks or weighed under 5.5lbs when they were born
