A Sense of Balance: Yoga, Pilates & Personal Training Yoga & Pilates classes, plus private sessions, 1-2-1, small groups, corporate and events. Family Yog

I teach Yoga and Pilates classes around the High Wycombe area, and also provide 1-2-1 and small group sessions by arrangement. My Pilates teaching style brings together elements of strength, flexibility, mobility and balance to deliver a practice that enhances my students self-awareness, helping them address and work through any physical injuries or imbalances. My yoga teaching style is similar, but I also like to weave themes into my yoga classes, combining relevant asana, pranayama, yoga philosophy and short meditations in the hope that my students will discover the physical, mental and spiritual benefits of a well-rounded yoga practice.

Check out my therapist Paul’s new toy!
In all seriousness though, MBST is the latest cutting edge technology: a safe, non-invasive, medical device that uses MRI technology for therapeutic purposes, designed to support the body's natural repair processes at the cellular level. It's used to support bone health, joint comfort, and recovery as part of a wider musculoskeletal care plan.

If you'd like to learn more or arrange a consultation, get in touch with Paul at Profortis.

Have you seen the full moon tonight? She looks stunning. The photo below is the full moon over Rochdale tonight. It’s not mine (credit below) but is identical to the view out from our friend’s balcony.

Tonight’s full moon is called the Wolf Moon — the first full moon of 2026 — and carries rich spiritual symbolism tied to both ancient tradition and inner work:

🌕 Renewal & New Beginnings –
As the first full moon of the year, it marks a natural time to reset, release what no longer serves you, and set intentions for 2026. It invites you to start fresh with clarity and purpose. (Ref: EBB & FLO)

🐺 Intuition & Inner Strength –
The name “Wolf Moon” comes from old folk calendars and Indigenous traditions, where January’s long winter nights were echoed by the calls of wolves. Spiritually this is linked with instinct, inner wisdom, and trusting your deeper guidance as the world around you grows clear and still. (Ref: Time and Date)

🏡 Connection & Reflection –
This lunar phase encourages introspection, emotional honesty, and reconnecting with loved ones or your “pack.” It’s a moment both for solitary reflection and strengthening bonds that sustain you. (Ref: The Pagan Grimoire)

🧘‍♀️ Emotional Awareness & Healing – Especially with the moon in Cancer (a sign of home, nurture, and feelings), many traditions see this as a time to nurture your emotional life, release old patterns, and tune into your heart’s truth. (Ref: Bustle)

Spiritually, the Wolf Moon teaches endurance, community, intuition, and renewal, making it a meaningful celestial marker as the new year unfolds. (Ref: The Pagan Grimoire)

Just one more week until the Wellness Day at Patch in High Wycombe. Come join me at 9am for a yoga practice themed around embracing autumn: 75 minutes of gentle flow yoga, finishing with relaxation and a guided meditation. Why not make a morning of it by treating yourself to coffee and a treat in the wonderful onsite Django’s coffee shop, before heading back into the Reading Room for some mindful crafting at the bracelet making workshop running after my yoga.

REGULAR CLASS MEMBERS: I’m offering 20% discount in my yoga event: just book online and use the discount code given out in my WhatsApp Community. DM me if you can’t find it.

COMBO OFFER: You will also see on my booking system a great “Combo” deal if you want to join the bracelet making workshop as well that’s running after the yoga practice. I have collaborated with the lovely ladies at Create Your Happy who are running the workshop to offer a discount when booking the two events together. This Combo deal is open to everyone (not just my A Sense of Balance members or their Craft Club members ☺️) and this combo deal is available through either of us.

It would be lovely to see you there.

Please find below up-to-date information about each of my private classes.

Monday Yoga 7pm:
Tonight (23rd June) is the last class of the current block. There will be no classes for the next two weeks, but I am planning on teaching on Monday 14th July. A separate listing for this class, and hopefully for classes up until the end of July, will be added to the booking system this week.

Wednesday Pilates/Yoga Fusion 9.30am:
I regret they will be no class this week, however classes will be running for the next 2 weeks with my cover teacher, Anna. Please note that Anna’s classes will be starting at the slightly later time of 9.45am, as she teaches elsewhere beforehand.
The final class of the current block will be with me on Wednesday 16th July. I hope to add further dates up until the end of July if there’s enough interest. These will be added as individual dates to my online booking system.

Thursday Pilates 6.30pm:
Classes have now ended for this summer term. The new term will commence at the beginning of September.

Friday Yoga 9.30am:
There will be no classes for the next three weeks. The last class of the current block will be on Friday 18th July. If there is enough interest in me running some additional classes during the rest of the summer break, I’m happy to do this. These will be added as individual dates to my online booking system.

I’d just like to take this opportunity to thank you all for your continued support. If I don’t see you again before September, i wish you a lovely summer.

With gratitude,

Emma

When I was invited to be lead the yoga practice to kick off the Patch Wellbeing Day on Saturday 7th June, it was so lovely to hear that Laura & Liz of Create Your Happy would be leading the craft workshop running afterwards.

I know these two fabulous ladies from our children’s primary school days, where we organised many PTA events together. Plus they also used to come to my classes, before they launched CYH and got super busy. When we saw that our workshops were scheduled next to one another in the morning of the Wellbeing Day, we thought it’d be a great idea to come together to offer a discounted workshop bundle, to help you enjoy a full morning of wellbeing as follows:

Yoga (9:00 - 10:15am)
• Ease yourself into your day with a yoga practice designed to help awaken and reconnect body & mind, and rejuvenate & recharge your battery.
• Expect gentle flows followed by longer held stretching poses to help ease away tension, and finishing with a relaxing savasana.
• Suitable for all levels – come as you are!

Candle Painting Workshop (11:00am - 12:30pm)
• Unlock your creativity with a crafting experience, painting a pair of tapered candles.
• The session is very much about having fun and enjoying getting creative. We assure you that no prior artistic experience is required, just a willingness to have a go!
• Ideas, templates guidance and inspiration will be on hand to help you decorate your candles - it is all about finding joy through simple painting, mark making, patterns and colours.

To join both sessions, you can visit either of our booking sites and make your bundle booking and you will automatically receive a discounted price of 10% off. Plus, the lovely team at Django’s Coffee House is offering a 10% discount on its special wellbeing day menu, so you can refuel between sessions and/or treat yourself to lunch afterwards.

We would love to see you there!
