Ever notice how you casually talk about yourself like you’re a whole team of people? 😄
“I’ve got a part of me that wants to go to the gym…”
“…but another part of me absolutely wants snacks and the sofa.”
“A part of me is really excited about this…”
“…and another part is already worrying about how it could go wrong.”
It’s like we’ve all got our own internal cast of characters 🎭
The Motivator. The Comfort Seeker. The Overthinker. The Inner Critic. The Dreamer…
And the funny thing is… we talk about them all the time without even realising we’re doing it.
Because you’re not just one voice.
You’re made up of parts — each one trying (in its own way) to help you.
✨ The part that brings you joy
✨ The part that keeps you safe
✨ The part that pushes you (sometimes a bit too hard)
✨ And yes… even the part that creates pressure or holds you back
Here’s where it gets really interesting…
The parts you want to change?
They’re not the enemy.
They’re usually the ones trying the hardest to protect you… just using outdated strategies.
And this is why forcing change rarely works.
Because if you fight that part… it just pushes back harder.
But when you connect with it — on a subconscious level — everything softens.
When you get curious instead of critical…
When you understand what that part is trying to do for you…
When you update it, reassure it, work with it instead of against it…
That’s when real, lasting change happens.
Not by silencing the part…
But by bringing it on side 🤝
So here’s a little thought for today…
👉 Which part of you has been running the show lately?
👉 The one creating joy… or the one creating pressure?
👉 And what might happen if you got curious about it instead of trying to push it away?
💬 Tell me… which “character” has been the loudest for you recently?
