Today is World COPD Day – Let’s Breathe Better Together!

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) affects millions worldwide and is often underdiagnosed. This year’s theme, “Short of Breath? Think COPD”, reminds us that persistent breathlessness, chronic cough, or frequent chest infections should never be ignored.

At Care Resource Bureau, we’re committed to supporting individuals living with COPD through compassionate, personalised care at home. Our carers help with:

✅ Medication reminders
✅ Pulmonary rehabilitation exercises
✅ Monitoring symptoms and oxygen therapy
✅ Emotional support for clients and families

Early diagnosis and proper management can make a huge difference. If you or a loved one experience ongoing breathing difficulties, speak to a healthcare professional today.

💙 Let’s raise awareness and show support for those living with COPD.

Armistice Day | Honouring the Fallen 🇬🇧

On this day, we remember the moment the guns fell silent — the end of the First World War, and the brave souls who served, sacrificed, and shaped our future.

At Care Resource Bureau, we are honoured to support individuals whose lives are deeply connected to this history. Many of our clients carry memories of wartime resilience, and today we stand with them in quiet reflection.

At 11am, we pause for two minutes of silence. A moment to remember. A moment to honour. A moment to never forget.
Lest we forget.

Today, we pause to remember.

On this Remembrance Sunday, we honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of all those who gave their lives in conflict so that future generations could live in peace.

At 11am, we fall silent—not just in memory, but in gratitude.

We will remember them.

On a day we are all reminded to ‘Remember remember’, we see that shared memories bring together communities and connect us. But dementia challenges that connection.

DID YOU KNOW?..

Every 3 seconds, someone develops dementia

57 million people worldwide are living with it

Behind every statistic is a lifetime of stories worth remembering which is why our specialist dementia carers take pride in getting to know the person behind the diagnosis. With the help of families, we unlock precious memories and keep them alive even when they seem forgotten. Find out more by visiting our website.

What’s one memory you’ll always hold close?

Today marks the start of ‘Talk Money Week, and, whilst it is traditionally considered impolite to talk about money, we know this is our best chance of stamping out financial abuse towards the more vulnerable in our community.

Elder financial abuse is one of the fastest-growing crimes, and it often goes unnoticed. Scammers and even trusted individuals can exploit older adults, leaving lasting harm. That’s why all of our carers are trained to spot and report signs of financial abuse and why we have strict protocols in place to reduce the risks.

What you can do:

• Stay connected: Regular check-ins help spot unusual financial activity.
• Educate: Share common scam tactics with your loved ones.
• Secure finances: Use trusted advisors and monitor accounts.
• Report concerns: If you suspect abuse, act immediately.
Together, we can safeguard dignity and independence for every senior.
