The Shrubbery The Shrubbery is a beautiful and characterful Residential Home, based in Higham Ferrers. We offer short-term and long-term residential care.

The Shrubbery is an excellent Residential Care Home offering residential and dementia care for the elderly, in Higham Ferrers, Northamptonshire. We provide individual, person- centered care of the highest possible quality for all of our residents. We also provide respite care for the elderly when their careers may need a break. We have a total of 45 rooms in total which all have an ensuite toilet.

Yesterday, we had a wonderful time celebrating St Patrick’s Day here at The Shrubbery! 🍀

Residents enjoyed a lively afternoon filled with the spirit of Ireland, including fantastic live Irish music from Andrew and friends, which had everyone smiling, tapping along, and reminiscing. 🎶

We also took part in some “armchair travel” to Ireland, exploring its rich culture, traditions, and beautiful landscapes through fun facts, trivia, and quizzes. There were plenty of laughs during our Irish-themed bingo, and residents got creative with some themed colouring activities too. 🎨

Of course, no St Patrick’s Day would be complete without a little treat — many residents enjoyed a Baileys or a Guinness as part of the celebrations! ☘️

Days like these are so important in supporting wellbeing. They encourage social connection, stimulate memories, and provide meaningful engagement, all while celebrating different cultures and traditions in a fun and inclusive way.

A truly joyful day was had by all! 💚

Today we celebrated all the incredible women here at The Shrubbery. 💐

Mother’s Day is not only about mums, but also about the aunties, sisters, nieces, grandmothers, daughters and every woman who nurtures, guides and supports those around them. Your strength, kindness and influence shape our families and our community in ways that often go unseen but are deeply felt every single day.

Thank you for the love you give, the resilience you show, and the inspiration you bring to others. Today we honour and celebrate each of you. 💖

We had a lovely time celebrating St. David's Day 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿. Residents enjoyed Welsh themed word searches and armchair travel trip to Wales, a fun quiz and learning interesting facts about Welsh culture. We also shared poems by Dylan Thomas sang along to our favourite welsh singers , and finished off by making daffodils, a wonderful day, promoting reminiscence engagement and cultural celebration across our home. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🌼🌼

Or the familiar smells and taste can spark positive memories and conversation.
