🌞 What do SPF and star ratings mean?
When buying sunscreen, it’s not just about the SPF — here’s what to look for:

🧴 SPF (Sun Protection Factor)
This measures protection from UVB rays, which cause sunburn.
➡ SPF 30 = good
➡ SPF 50+ = strongest protection

⭐ Star Rating
This shows protection against UVA rays, which age the skin and can cause long-term damage.
➡ UK sunscreens show a rating up to 5 stars — the more stars, the better.

⭕ Look for the UVA logo in a circle
This means the UVA protection is at least a third of the SPF value and meets EU recommendations.

Medical Donations Appeal
Highcliffe Medical Centre is collecting medical supplies to support humanitarian efforts in response to the ongoing crisis.
If you have any surplus medical items at home, we are accepting donations of the following:
• First aid kits
• Plasters
• Bandages
• Medical wipes
Please note: We are unable to accept any medications. Unused or expired medicines should be safely disposed of at your local pharmacy.
Donations can be dropped off at the reception desk. Kindly inform the team that your items are intended for medical donations.
