What a beautiful and emotional evening at Arrowe Park Hospital organised by our wonderful midwifery bereavement team (Hannah , Laura and Jamie-Leigh) in aid of baby loss week. Seeing all the parents and baby’s names on the screen that we at Laurence Jones looked after was very emotional . Sometimes I don’t know how I do my job but tonight was worth it seeing how a community comes together to support each other and remember those special little ones 💙🩷🤍

Tonight is special...🕯

As the evening settles and the world grows quiet, a single flame will begin to glow. One by one, homes across cities, states, and nations will join in - lighting candles not out of ritual, but out of remembrance.

Each flicker will carry a name, a heartbeat, a dream that was once held and loved deeply. From living rooms to hospital rooms, from tear-stained hands to hopeful hearts, a wave of light travels across the world - unbroken and radiant - full of love and shared grief.

This wave honors the precious babies lost through miscarriage, stillbirth, ectopic and molar pregnancies, and infant loss - lives that ended far too soon, but are never forgotten.

May this light remind us that love outlives loss, and that even in the darkest night, hope still flickers and their memory carries on.

Give your family and loved ones a extra hug tonight x
Much love
Kay x

We believe that people should not be treated merely as a number. We believe that no matter how elaborate or low key people want their funeral service to be that transparency at all times is essential.
At Laurence Jones Funeral Directors a direct cremation , sometimes referred to as pure or unattended the fees for everything are from only £1399.
We keep things simple and local for you.
We offer top of the range mortuary and funeral home facilities, maintaining proper care for the deceased at all times, not abandoned lock ups or warehouses.
National companies and online companies all advertise unattended cremation funerals also, but do you know where your loved one will actually be taken to?
Do you want your loved one to be taken and cremated in a completely different area of the country often hundreds of miles away from where you live?
Our direct cremation funerals take place at Wirral Crematorium, Landican.
We pay a slightly higher price than some crematoriums to our local Crematorium because we want to make sure that at all times any loved one entrusted into our care, is actually cared for by our own team from the first minute you contact us, using our first class funeral home facilities and equipment throughout Wirral, right up until the cremation takes place.
You may see a slightly less expensive price advertised somewhere
(very slightly if you do) but be very careful as not everywhere is as transparent as we are. Our funeral plans are also less expensive than the cheesy adverts seen on television about direct cremation and we give you proper peace of mind over where your loved one will rest and where the cremation will take place and when.
Here when you need us most, please email or phone and we will be there for you every step of the way x

Why Do We Carry Coffins on Our Shoulders?
It’s more than just tradition — it’s a final act of love and honor.

Lifting the coffin onto our shoulders symbolizes the weight of our loss and the respect we hold for the one who has passed. It’s a way for loved ones to say, “You mattered. We’ll carry you, even now.”

In many cultures, this act represents spiritual elevation, communal grief, and a deep personal connection. It reminds us that mourning is not something we do alone — we carry it together.

At times health and safety comes into it where a coffin is too heavy to be deemed safe to carry not just for our staff but for the dignity of the person inside the coffin. No unnecessary risks will be taken when a coffin is too heavy.
It could simply be a case of low door ways or small aisles that are impossible to navigate by a team of 4/6 people carrying on shoulders. In those circumstances a wheel bier will then be used to assist moving the coffin safely.
Handles can be held by bearers as the coffin is wheeled into the chapel.
We will only do this as a last resort and in most circumstances carrying on shoulders is an honour our team do with care and respect.
We will always help and assist if friends or family wish to carry or walk alongside the coffin but people do need to weigh up which option is the best for all parties, as carrying a coffin up high is not always easy.

A solemn gesture. A shared burden. A farewell with dignity. 🕊️
Respect to those who carry, family, friends or funeral directing staff
(or wheel if circumstances dictate)! 👏
