At the end of August, I’ll be closing the Highworth salon as I begin a brand new adventure, relocating to York to join my family.

I want to take this moment to say a huge THANK YOU to all my customers. It’s been a joy helping you feel better and getting to know you all over the years. Your support, trust, and kind words have truly meant the world to me. 💖

(The 10 main energy pathways)

People often think Thai massage is about pulling, bending, stretching, and walking on someone's back. But that’s not how we begin!

We start with the Sen. In traditional Thai medicine, we follow the ten main energy pathways(Sen Sib),which run through major lines of fascia, nerves, and blood flow. When these lines are blocked, the body holds tension, compensates, and loses balance.

So we begin with pressure – accurate, slow, intentional acupressure along the Sen lines. We feel for resistance and release it point by point. Once we find a restriction, we apply pressure and then ask the client to breathe. We ask them to breathe when we’re ready to help the nervous system shift.

That deep breath helps the body calm down; muscle guarding starts to release, and the nervous system changes from sympathetic to parasympathetic. That’s when healing starts. Only then, when the breath returns and the muscle softens, do we begin to stretch. And even then, we don’t force it. We ask for another breath. If the body allows, we go deeper. If not, we wait.

Because Thai massage isn’t about what you can do to the body; it’s about how much the body is ready to receive. That’s Thai massage.
